Still waiting...

And, you will have to wait....I don't have any more time to mess with it. V4.2 works great and I'll continue using it.

That was only one issue on one machine I've been having with V5. I'm not sure how others are utilizing the software, so maybe they don't encounter the problems I do with V5. I just know that on all the machines that I've tested it with, running XP, W7 Pro & W7 Ultimate, I've had numerous errors and problems that simply don't leave me with the 'warm cozy' feeling that I need to use it live.

I've tested theories, changed settings, changed hardware, contacted you personally, etc...but nothing has fixed things.

Well, that's usually because when I ask for more info to try to find the cause, you usually go off on a rant like above, and drop the ball... ;)

You are the only one who has reported this problem with V5, out of 10's of thousands of users. It's obviously intrinsic to your system setup, or the way you are using it. Which means you are the only source of information I have with which to try and debug it, since I can not duplicate it on my test machines.

If you don't want to try, then don't complain, and just stick with V4.2 :)

I honestly have no clue Mike... :dontknow:

If you could email me two files, I could try and replicate the problem here:

Don't post them here, email to my support email from the website http://softjock.com/support.htm

I need the first history list of the year -- whatever date that is, and the RockitVJ.ini file, which is in the C:\SoftJock\RockitProDJ50 folder.

BTW, just a mention -- the new history files for this month, should be at the very top of the list, not the bottom -- it sorts left to right order...

Rick, I havent forgot about this. As soon as I have free time today or tomorrow, Ill send you this. I will try later on tonight. Its been a busy day so far today. But, I havent forgot.

Nah...don't turn this into something it's not.

For one, if I had actually paid for the upgrade, I would be more worried about it. ;)

If it was just one thing, I'd also be more inclined to try and expedite the fix. But, it's just not one thing. It's a variety of problems. And, I did provide several pieces of info from a few of the first things I uncovered, only to be given the 'I can't duplicate it; it's you system' speech. So, I went out and spent a few hundred dollars on upgrades and still have the same issues.

Yes, I would love to have V5 working properly and besides shipping my laptop directly to you for review, I'm simply content in just utilizing V4.2 that is rock solid in my book.

I only responded on this this thread again, because another person is also having an issue with something that I was also experiencing as well.

I'm not -- what I AM trying to do, is understand the issues you are having.

If somebody is having a particular issue on a particular system, and I can get it figured out, then I can help others who may have the same setup -- or not recommend certain hardware/software combination's.

The only issues I see from our support emails that remain unresolved, are the duplicates you mention in the history lists, and this new slow loading of playlists...

Since I am unable to duplicate these two issues in-house, my next step was to get your hardware/software config, and do some searching around to see if anybody with the same sort of setup, is having problems with any other software. By looking at things like that, sometimes I can figure out a common denominator that can resolve the issue.

It would take you a couple minutes to give me the info I'm looking for, just by giving me the make and model number of the computer, and running a HiJackThis scan so I can see what's running on the machine...

Thanks, but no thanks...I'll not worry about it any longer. I actually kick myself for trying to once again figure it out; it just aggravates me. ;)

I have three machines that have all have some sort of issue with running V5. They all three run V4.2 like a champ, so I'm just going to move on from here. I'll probably pick up your next version to see if there is any difference. If not, I'll continue with V4.2 or move onto another piece of software.

I appreciate that you want to look at it now, but maybe you should have asked for the details when I was originally submitting support emails. ;)

I didn't need those details previously, as the issues did not involve performance -- they involved usage.

Rick, I just have a quick question. On the DJ300 skin, is there a way to change the Softjock Pro Audio image on the video screen to my own logo? If so, how can I change that? Thanks.

Yes, although I think the SoftJock one is pretty (because I made it) :D

You can either modify the existing image, it's called videoimage.bmp, and is located in the C:\SoftJock\RockitProDJ50\Skins\DJ-300 folder, or you can make a new image from scratch, and put it in that folder, and modify this line of the skin file to point to the new image:

<videowin action="videop" visible="1" x="1067" y="359" w="200" h="140" border="1" image="videoimage.bmp"/>

Iss it ok to call you and you can walk me thru it?

What part do you want a walk through on...?

If you just want to modify the image, open it in Photoshop or another graphics program, and change it to what you want, and save it -- simple as that :)
