For those of you all are so anal about your Speakers showing up in photos, here are some alternatives. Some are even wireless. :triwink:

They are loud enough for ceremonies. There is a place here in Houston that uses them and they really do blend in. For instance, in the pic below, there are two speakers, one on each side of the "Downtown Aquarium" sign. They are made to look like bushes. They have them all over the property, which BTW is a Restaurant with a built in aquarium that surrounds the restaurant and many other marine wildlife including a marine petting zoo.

A venue I work at alot uses speakers just like that spread throughout their garden for the ceremonies. It sounds good and is basically invisible. Great combo for a ceremony.

How many here believe it is best to have the speaker(s) on the ground & not elevated?

those are consumer grade speakers....and frankly would stick out like a sore thumb on a freshly manicured lawn...How to devalue "us" more....

I googled "Rock" speakers and picked that sample at random from what I saw. There are commercial grade speakers like these in use all over the US. I dare you to come to Houston to the Aquarium (Very prestigious venue where there are many fine restaurants and banquet rooms) and find those speakers among the trees, shrubs grass etc. The ones they use are NOT those. Just for your information, this is a category that is not Pro Sound.

How many here believe it is best to have the speaker(s) on the ground & not elevated?

As a rule of thumb (There are some exceptions), I do not believe that when projecting to ANY group/crowd pf people that speakers should be on the ground. Objects/people in the front will block the sound waves. People in the rear would not hear as well and therefore the volume will have to be raised,, thus causing discomfort for those in the front.
If you want to set up purely on aesthetics, then sound and it's quality may suffer. Its time for you to do some reading up on Sound Reinforcement and share that information with your clients instead of them making you buy in to their thinking.
