Classic Rick! Just forget it! I'm so tired of getting the run around with you, it's not funny. How hard is it to open up your pm box and look at the last one I JUST sent you a day ago & check to see if you replied.

Randy,

Not sure you realize, but I run a company. I get hundreds of emails, and many PMs on this, and other boards, every single day of the week.

IMHO, PMs are not a good place to put questions about the software, because I rarely look at them. I consider them to be a personal message directed towards me, and not a support request, or software related. That is why this thread is here, to put all the Rockit stuff in one place, where I can reference it. It also allows other people to see the questions/comments, and my responses to them :)

Having said that, your last PM was titled "Suggestion" -- so I glanced at it, made note of it, and moved on. I did not think it required a direct response.

I do not respond to everything that comes through my PM boxes on all the boards, although I do respond to posts in this thread :)

Do you drink that damn much that you forget things so easily.

It's the opposite -- I drink so I CAN forget things

I like to sleep at night, and don't want visions of Rockit in my brain, when I put my head on the pillow -- Shania or Liz Hurley are more appropriate... :sqwink:

I nomally don't like English chicks for some reason but Liz is hot! What about Shakira? Doesn't she have a place in your head while you dream?

Shakira is indelibly etched on the walls of my mind -- no need to even think about her

Product search.. Honest Opinions gratefully accepted.

I'm all for the fun & Babes but does anyone know what is happening with the Rocket 4 next release. 4.2. 5.0 ?

I have PCDJVJ & DJDECKS & (Reflex) (My order of quality) and use the first two for the most part.

A) I like Rockets Request panels as in Randy's implementation and the sound quality.

B) I don't like to become a programmer to get the user interface I like.

Is there going to be any real movement on (B)

Should I stay & wait for an Update / Upgrade or just look for an other product :sqconfused:

Some of you folks amaze me. I think Rick has shown immeasurable patience here. Do you really think you'd get any sort of dialog like this from any other company that develops this sort of software; yet some still gripe....

The word customerzilla comes to mind.....

The upgrade is in process Allen... It will be released, when it is finished :)

As to B -- that is the direction that Rockit has been going in, since the release of V4. It is not designed to be a single program, it is designed to be what you want it to be, or what 3rd party skins and mappers become available. I am not going to go backwards, but am in fact, moving forward to opening up more things in the interface.

You do not need to be a programmer, to tweak Rockit to your needs -- you just need to be able to read and write English if you want to modify or build your own skin. Everything else, such as shortcuts, MIDI control, etc., all have built in interfaces in the Config, so they are simple to change.

V4.2, will be very much like 4.1 -- just lots of updates, new features, bug fixes, speed increases, skins, etc.

V5 is going to be a complete rebuild, using the new renderers in Vista and Win7, so as to take advantage of the new technology available. I won't release V5, until some time after Win7 releases... :)

What he said guys! Try to get this kind of customer service from any other pro DJ software company.

PMs are a joke and only good for a quick "Waaaaas up?" Always use email or phone (Remember that?) for any REAL communication.

Thanks that's what I needed to know...

Something was just brought to my attention...

Apparently, the new Gigaport HD, if installed properly with their installation/drivers, will show up as 4 separate outputs in Rockit.

I don't have one of the new ones to verify this yet, so if anybody has one, and can try it, I'd be interested in knowing if you get the same results...

BTW, it was mentioned that you have to plug the GP into the same USB port you installed it on each time, or it will not show the multiple outs. Also, they apparently do not have 64 bit drivers, only 32 bit.

Another Netbook skin! :sqlaugh:

I was working on some updates for 4.2, so needed a skin to do the video stuff on -- it works fine with 4.1 though -- you just have to wait until 4.2 is finished, to see the new features, that will show up on the skin then :)

BTW, Rockit's video deck (which is the only deck on this skin), plays music, videos or displays images. Anything you have a Codec installed for (except Win Media files), will render on the video deck :)

Just an update :)

V4.2 is going into final testing and tweaking -- hope to get it released around the end of the month or so...

Here's one of the new skins -- this is the 4 deck interface, which requires a 1440 x 900 resolution or better. Lots of room to put stuff on this skin :)

Rick,

You win... I'm downloading the demo today. I had enough of trying to reinstall PCDJ Red on a new computer (no customer support over there). If its even half as easy/functional/cool as all the other posts I've read, then you'll have another customer.

-DJ Joe

Quite the diverse tunes on the players.....

Sausalito Summer Night - There's a lost goodie!

One of my favs Steve -- love that song

Those are the 4 songs I most use for programming and testing. The play counters on those files, are each above 10,000 :sqerr: :sqeek: :sqlaugh:

Do we have drag and drop in the autoplaylist yet? :)

Rockit has lots of drag and drop -- probably more so than any product in the market :)

Did you perhaps mean "move" within a list?

If so, yes 4.2 has added quite a bit in that area. ;) :)

Course, yer gonna pay more for it, unless you get in before the upgrade... I'm raising my rates, just like you folks :sqcool:

Outside a phone number, of which my be a bad number, there is no way to know who even owns/runs the site.

As it hasn't been updated since 2005, I'd also say it's well out of date to use for a reference.

Nice looking update skin BTW!
Great Work!

Nah -- tastes like chicken to me... :sqlaugh:

BTW, I think 4.2 is going to ship with either 18 or 20 skins -- depends on how many I can fit, and still keep the download to a reasonable size...

The 4 deck skin requires a big enough monitor to see and use all the controls -- works great on my 26" :)

May be a tad too tiny on a 15" widescreen, at that resolution... ;)
