Got a call from my computer guy.(Where i bought my home desktop from)

Quick update, My desktop was having issues..It was found to not accept
1 stick of RAM. It is a Dual core machine, and has (2) 1 gb sticks.

If you take the 1 stick out it boots just fine. Put it back in, Either no boot
or "keyboard Failure" comes up.

They tried to reset the BIOS and that wouldn't work. I told them if it needed a
motherboard, To just get one as i need the machine back...Well DELL says they need over $300 frickin dollars for the motherboard!!!! And my guy says he can't find one anywhere else. Dell told him that for a "few dollars" more, He could sell me a better computer than the one i already have.....WTF???

He told them that would be fine if it were a 4-5 year old machine...But this thing is barely over 1 year old!!

I'm thinking about just taking the bad stick of RAM out, and dumping the damn thing on Craigslist and buying a custom built one again...

DELL.....WHAT A JOKE! BUYER BEWARE.:sqmad::sqmad::sqmad::sqmad:

Except for the accents at customer service I have had really good luck with Dell. The only problem I had was with an external HD I bought from them and after I got past the worst english speaking Indian guy I ever heard it went well

Get yourself a MacPro... 4 years later your machine will still smoke any windows machine! No SPAM! No VIRUSES! The most STABLE OPERATING SYSTEM HANDS DOWN! I could go on! But, need i say More!

I think I just puked a little in my mouth...:icon_puke_l:

Yeah yeah yeah, blah, blah, blah, MACs are the second coming, whatever. I have been a PC user all my life and in the past 10 years I have gotten no Viruses, all my computers will dust an equivalent MAC at any task, SPAM is solely a function of the user and their mail servers (thus a non sequiter), and I have no had a crash of my OS in the last 8 years (since I switched to XP).

Dell is a great company, I love their warranties, and usually their customer service is excellent. Dell Financial on the other hand, is a totally different story.

Play nice boys....I've had a hard day and I have an itchy trigger finger

Thank you for the pills... I did say it's all GOOD...

This is a really laid back place here "The Shadow", And getting all smart ass
at the regulars will not make you any friends around here.

There are plenty of people here who would give you the shirt off there back if needed....A little respect will go along way.

I have two Dell laptops and two Dell PCs and never had a problem. The school that I work for is 100% Dell and some do have problems but for the amount of machines in the building the percentage is low and when I need CS they show up the next day.

When I purchased my first Dell moons ago I had problems with it. I called CS they sent a technician the next day, when he could not repair it, they sent me a new machine the following day.

Some may have problems but many don't.

My advice is to not buy Dell. There are better choices for the same money.

As for Mac, their service sucks! The worst I have ever experienced. And only on that single reason I will never buy Mac again! Their service should not be called geniuses but vampires! Just google it.

It all depends on on how much crap you want or dont want on your computer.

I have had great success with both pcs and macs, and they are still running smoothly.

Just like, my wife drives a Chevy, and I have a Dodge and a Ford, and they all have their own issues.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck on that computer that went out on you. Usually there is warranties to help a guy out.

I personally would buy a new one, and I will bet you don't have the same problem again.

Well...I picked up the P.O.S. Dell today...

The place i bought it from said he would get me a referb Dell for his cost, to replace mine....

I decided to use that option today....The $385 dollars it cost the other day now suddenly cost almost $600 today.:sqmad::sqmad:

I calmly told the owner..."Think about what you just told me"
He says, "I know exactly what i told you"...Then i said I would like my computer please. I then told him "This is me walking out the door...NEVER to return"

Then he was stuttering trying to back track, And do damage control...:sqlaugh:
I just ignored his ass and hopped in the van...

I shall now be looking for a new computer guy.:sqmad::sqmad::sqmad:
