Also - Yes, I will try to have some QSC K series speakers there if they have shipped by then.

Rob, Keith, Ben, this is sounding more and more appealing.....I might even bring my "beginner" speakers just for fun!As long as our schedule permits us to make the trip...
This is Rob and Keith's event, so I cannot speak for them. However, I think we should allow anyone to bring ANY system. Again, what a great opportunity for all involved to experience many choices in the audio industry, and to learn about the fundamentals of sound. Every system has unique design characteristics and thus varying performance. For example, there is no doubt that Randy's Tour-X will beat both the D-Lite 1002 and Bose in total SPL. The D-Lite will have the most audiophile sound of all the systems, and the Bose linear array gives it an extremely wide pattern.
I just fear that there is a potential for it to get heated, and for me that's not worth the trip. This isn't a pit fight, this should be about fellowship and learning.

What do you expect from a guy who refers to his non clients as "trailer park trash" on his own DJ website.... I saw it with my own 2 eyes.

I totally agree. Meters don't lie. Human senses can be fooled. Each system will receive exactly the same input at exactly the same level with no EQ. Otherwise, you're right... it's no longer fair.
Seems to me fair would be to allow each system to be demoed in the manner and environment that makes it shine, not throttle it back so that less capable ones can then compete based on specs, not listening experience.
I suggest this duality because the audiences that receive the sound output are humans with auditory senses not meters. Bring the meters but let's remember,
It's not how big it is, it's how you use it.
Exactly my point and exactly the questions that an end user needs to ask bout, observe, and consider. When "I" am considering any system, I have not only have to consider how it sounds but also what it took to make it sound like it did.
A compact light system that seems perfect may not be perfect if it takes 500lbs and $10k worth of processing equipment to get it there. If I can "fool" the senses without the weight or $, thats the direction I would lean.
Rob : The 31st is out for me, having a wedding at 12:00pm and then another at 7:00pm on the 30th. The curse of being a working mobile DJ.
Kirby, the Eliminators are a well known established product. Even I've heard them and I'm a relative newbie. Tour-X is new and not as well known since not that many people have them yet, the same with Dynacord, QSC K series and Bose. Eliminators are a known quantity. Lots of folks run them because in their price range there is not much that can touch them for sound quality, reliability and SPLs. No need to drag them there. Bring yourself and your two ears. Just my opinion.
I'd like to see some FBTs or RCFs if there is room. I for one would be happy if the Dynacord, Bose and QSC K series are represented. That should be enough to keep everyone busy.

31st might not work for us either as we have a reception that evening and without looking at the schedule, I'm not sure what time we're going to be finishing up.
I'll need to pull the paperwork and refresh my memory on the times and see if I might be able to put together enough time to make the trip.
What about the first week of June?
Keith: Can you check about any midweek dates that might work?
