They are not expensive at all. I have an ADJ Micro Gobo that I use on small ceilings or at Karaoke in front of the Singer.
The ones by Chauvet are also very nice and even less expensive. There are 5 on this page. http://www.chauvetlighting.com/dj-club_lasers.html

I have a pair of ADJ micro galaxians. Coolest little lasers and they have massive spread to them. Highly Recommended.

there are several version of those so you can get a couple and mix and match. Trini Dave uses a water unit to enhance making it similar effect to the bliss light.

Hello to the O.P. I have the ADJ micro series. I have 2 galaxians, 1 micro star, and 1 micro gobo all mounted on a 2 ft t-bar (cut down from a 4 ft bar). they all have individual remote controlers and include color & direction change/slow rotation/sound active and a blackout. They have a suprisingly wide throw (especially on ceilings) for their size. I wire-tied 2 small black powerstrips (4 plug) one to each side of the t bar clamp. Now I have 1 power cord to plug in for all the units. All the colors for each light are red & green, so I am getting a Chauvet eclipse to add some blue color. Hopefully it will go on the same T-bar & stand. They look great! It has allowed me to cut down on the lights that I usaully carry. I am now using those and a Chauvet 4-bar / 4play for most gigs. I have more lighting for larger gigs/venues, but I have found that this combo works well for weddings, parties etc. My next investment will be in uplighting.

JBHDan thanks for the ideas as I said thing have changed alot in the 10 years since we abandoned all lighting ....we age going to start with only 1 or 2 but I really like your cut down bar idea most rooms we do are small enough for this idea to work well (any chance of some photos being posted ?).. cant wait to demo the options including the water effect light....we do not do fog or mist as people at karaoke tend to have a strong aversion to the Juice

I LOVE my Galaxian! It is the size of a sandwich! It has a VERY LARGE spread and will cover any ceiling or floor! It has a teenie tiny remote, just like the evil genius in any classic story!

gonna have to start around 300 and add from there we are hanging on to the knot at the bottom of the rope at present. We dont do any large venues and no DJ work just dare I say it that K word.....business is just starting to pick up so we can start making some purchases but it will have to be a bit at a time. Thank to all for your help

For around $300 you can get about 3 micro lasers from ADJ and have a fine show.

Go to http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004Z8FA3U/tmd0c8-20

These are Fantastic! for only $45 dollars --I use 3 of the for parties of 300 or more and they do the trick! I only use them as special effects. I don't leave them on on evening. People love them!

just used (borrowed) a Mini Galaxian last weekend
I too was impressed enough to get one for myself
$99 is a bargain, but I have been seeing many cheaper versions like Capt Jack mentioned.

Any news on the quality and/or durability of these?

I am not afraid to pay for a good one from ADJ, but if I can save $40...
I could buy a PAIR, or jut keep the change,

ACTUALLY, These are Fantastic! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004Z8FA3U/tmd0c8-20

...for only $45 dollars -- THEY ARE NOT 'CHEAP; BY DESIGN,TRY ONE I BET YOU WILL BUY MORE.

People love them! I've had them now for 5 months and they still work great!!

thanks Jamey but the funny thing is it is made on the very same assembly line as the name products with one or two slight alterations.
