What is a Clean Look/Setup?

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!

I think a table with a nice drape/skirt would look sharp. It's more open & appealing.

You have nice professional DJ equipment but hidden in a cubicle.
The facade gives the appearance of "Keep away" or "don't look behind this"....or the DJ is not wearing any pants (LOL!)

Maybe it's a regional thing? I don't see other DJs in my area using these things.

Bill I totally agree. I'd rather show an open approachable feeling.

Yes, facades do look great, but do they send a message that says to a guest "this is MY space..approach with caution".

And that's not the message I want any guest or client to have....reputation is everything...

There are no rules man. You did great! There was only one comment that you could have placed the two Bass Bins together on the floor directly in front of your rack.
When I looked at your first pic there was no reason to see any more of the room because you were not squished up in a corner and the stage was all yours. Good going. Question, Did you ask for the stage/riser or was it provided for you?
 
The question asked at the start of this board was "What is a clean look/setup?"
Simple--Orderly, no wires or cables showing if possible, and colorful. Nobody wants to see an equipment dump on a table.
Additionally, the DJ entertainer is an integral part of the scene, and should also appear neat, clean, and dressed appropriately for the event.

Remember......You do not get a second chance to make a good first impression!

I don't have a problem with either a table or facade if it is properly displayed. Some people have small systems so a Table Top will suffice. Others like myself have larger systems so a table only gets in the way. Personally my choice is a Facade.

There are also good reasons to have a Facade.
1.It prevents people from coming and leaning over your equipment with a drink in their hand.
2. Racks need to have their back doors open for ventilation so a facade will hide any cables showing.
3. If a fight breaks out, your gear is better protected behind a facade.
4. Children don't run up being all inquisitive trying to touch!
For me a six foot table takes up a lot of space. My actual footprint for the Gear minus speakers is 42", the space of two racks side by side with a DJ console on top one of the racks and a laptop on a special stand on top the other rack.

That is nice Mr. Cie! I do prefer the pic on the left as the speakers are barely visible and not as imposing as the one in the right pic. Someone was mentioning the problem of speakers leaning crooked, you may want to look into that next time.

Don't know where you get that...A facade is not a moat; it's a 4 foot high table wrap to high you industrial gear rack...it tells the client I want to hide my idustrial gear rack out of the view of all the guests, especially given the monet you spent on aesthetics....

...and for the rest of you; do you really need the validation that bad?

Steve, I got that from...ummm....my opinion! Yours are welcome and correct just as mine are.

And I don't need any validation. I have a very strong sense of my own self worth and self respect. I am very comfortable with who I am and it shows when you get to know me.

Getting through cancer treatments and continuing on with life will do that to you.

Well, if you think about it, there would have been no tsunami without the earthquake. Which was probably caused by fracking for natural gas. The reason we are fracking, is because you drive a car that gets bad gas mileage, and all the world's oil is being devoted to making high octane fuel for your Mustang. Hence, we need the natural gas to run our power plants.

So, the reason we cannot get Canute to shut up, is entirely your fault Jacob... yorofl:
