Was $20 dollars enough?

One more and I will have a trifecta.

Yes, as I suspected this is Sport for your, but to many it doesn't appear that way. However, it is a Chat Board and as such we all should be aware to expect the unexpected. I've already gone through one bag of popcorn and I'm full of it.

I know! I just had a White Castle flashback and thought I would give you an answer MixMasterMachoMachoMan..
Not only a flash back but I bet you had a flush out. I don't eat their burgers very often even though they're good because a half hour later I can't get out the bathroom. The thing is I live 3 doors away from a White Castle.

When I do eat there I normally stick with a sack of chicken ringsand sausage sandwiches with cheese. I don't chance eating their burgers and being out some where and can't get to a bathroom. LOL.

MMM brings up a good point when he mentioned "a friend".
I'm sure most of us would not charge, if the DJ asking is someone you know pretty well.
I know, and get along with most of the others in my area.
I would hope that they consider me a friend, and wouldn't charge ME if the roles were reversed.

Not so much sport.... more a understanding of the nature of the different DJs that make comments on my posts. There seems to be a cadre of 3 that like to always offer up something negative on my posts so that is where my trifecta remark came from. So grab another bag and let's see if it happens.

I'm just curious what did you spend that $20.00 on? I bet it wasn't much. Maybe that was gas money so you could make it back home because you just didn't have enough due to not charging the client enough. LOL.

Since you asked

I split the 20 with the wedding coordinator who had to deal with the frustration this incident caused and the other 10 went to Taco Bell that night. Are you seriously questioning what i make at a event Machom...............Have you been drinking tonight?

I said that because you're having another DJ pay you $20.00 for using a mic stand. How was what you did to help this DJ fustrating to the wedding coordinator? Do you nickel and dime your brides for everything such as gas to and from a meeting with them and so on?

I certainly wouldn't sweat a client if the price they wanted to pay was $20.00 less then the price i quoted them. I would just eat the $20.00 to win their business. It's not like that's going to put me in a higher tax bracket.

Put your feet in the shoes of the other DJ , if i was the other DJ being bailed out by Cesar ,mostly because of my own fault then i'd be grateful to pay the $20 for the stand. Without the stand i could have faced repercussions from the bride & groom.

I would not of charged him, i would ask for his business card so if he didn't return it i would know how to get a hold of him, as they say what comes around goes around

It was said by a member very early on Ceasar that you ask us what did we think? As soon as some disagreed with you, you came back with a quick rebuttal looking to justify what you did and why you did it. Like most members on here said for something like a stand they wouldn't have charged a thing. That would have been their good deed for the day. Like I've been told when you ask for advice on here sit back, relax and just listen. Or in this case read.

By the title it tells me you think you have asked for more. As far as me asking what you did with the $20.00. I wasn't asking you that to find out exactly what you did with it but to make a point. We're only talking $20.00. Not to much you could spend $20.00 that would be worth a lot.

You didn't need the $20.00 to help you pay your cellphone bill. If you did need it for that then you got a whole lot more problems then getting $20.00 to help with the bill. Get my point? What would you do if this situation came up again while doing a gig? That's the $64,000.00 question.

:triwink: Get him to fill out a rental agreement (have one prepared based on this recent experience), determine price based on how much he was getting paid for his gig.... oh and DNA sample and name of next of kin.

Now that's one of the funniest post I've ever seen. You're going to do all of that for $20.00? Wow is all I can say.

Scott

Some day you are going to have to eat a lot of crow when someone you know and trusts visits me at my office and shares with you that what i share is the truth and nothing but the truth. I am going to enjoy that day very much.

Keep on with your Ding Ding we got a winner posts......LOL

OK Cesar, here's the offer...

You fly me from BWI to your location and back and put me up for for a week. I'll be your roadie or assistant on some gigs. I'll be your witness.

If you are what you say you are then you will accept that. If you don't accept it then walk away from the board and never come back.
