Hello all. I'm finally having my friend put the video I shot on 4-20-13 from the class reunion we did in Brooklyn, NY. It's coming from youtube. I'm surprised how well it came out. The only problem is you'll see some of the people working there walk past the camera lens. This was the last song that was played and they went nuts over the selection. It fitted the ending perfectly to a great event! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoPd8SMN74k

The Angie's Stripper birthday party sucked!

I know it did! I was just using that for a practice video. I wouldn't show that to a potential client.
You are giving some of the Married Chaps Eye Candy with the Angie Video. Their wives will never give them permission to DJ an event like that one! :djparty:

Good job Mix ... but where's the part showing the master in action ? :)

Are you trying to stir the pot?

You folks have pot? Send a lid, and I'll give you free software ( better be a lid of good stuff ). Shoot, after my shopping and gas billls this morning, I think I deserve to get stoned.

BTW, the video was ok Mix -- lots of eye candy as mentioned. I'd still like to see the DJ "partner" playing though, and not just a dance floor filled with hot chicks. I can't vet a DJ just by looking at a dance floor.

Did you get a tripod, while it records you playing? I would think your potential clients would rather see YOU in action, rather than a bunch or random dancers.

I think my favorite parts are the blast of distortion at 15 seconds in, and when the girl holding her phone is signaling for you to move it along at 1:37.

On a side note, that's the most ridiculously long version of "Last Dance" I've ever heard in my life.

Don't be too quick to criticize! The Girl holding the phone was signalling to him to play it again/play it over! As some of you will say, what does it matter to you all, everyone seemed to be having a blast! Go Mix!!!:cheers:

He played it twice Brendan. I'm not sure that goes along with the Last Dance thing...

I used to do the Last Dance track, then I will play NY, NY by Sinatra. Seemed like a good fit, as I was getting ready to load out, and all the folks were leaving in a happy mood, but mellow, and just wanted to go to their hotel rooms and make whoopie.

Trust me there is another video that my partners girl friend took with her Iphone. There were crazy shots of him shouting with his face in the video looking crazy. I didn't want to use that. I wanted it to be something that looked like class. As for next time a small shot of the DJ would be OK. Not too much of the DJ. The focus should be about the people having fun at an event you're doing and not you the DJ.

I understand why some would have liked to have seen that as they just want to see one of us at the controls. Next time for sure.

I wouldn't show any potential clients your youtube page until you remove the Angie video.

Correction:

Until you remove the Angie video(s). There appear to be more than one.

Here's what I don't get on this one. After looking at it a few times, checking file stuff --I noticed the DJ was white and all the guests were as well.

That is not Mix's MO.

I'm wondering where they got the video from?

FWIW, the song is Last Dance (12" Version) by Donna Summer off of the Bad Girls (Deluxe Edition) album (Disc 2 / Track 2), which is 8 minutes and 10 seconds long. That is not 2 songs being played. The part where it sounds like he's replaying it is 4:50 into the song.

The video starts 2:30 into the song.

The tempo is a little faster and there are effects at 1:30-1:40 into the video and at the end of the song (5:29-5:40 in the video). Other than that, it is the song.

This same version is on 'The Casablanca Records Story' (Box Set) (Disc 4 / Track 13).

Tell me please where did you see a DJ in the video? There was none. The crowd was white. Now what does that have to do with it? The event was a class reunion for an all girls catholic high school.

At least Mix knows how to take a vid and post it on Youtube.
I took the video but I didn't put it on Youtube.

Actually, I wouldn't WANT to DJ an event like that.
Big difference.

I think she was motioning for someone to come to the dance floor.

But you are correct, they seemed to be having a good time, so let the man enjoy his success!

Agreed.

I think she was motioning for someone to come to the dance floor.

Whatever it was, I don't think it had anything to do with the song .. as there was only 1 song in the video.

But you are correct, they seemed to be having a good time, so let the man enjoy his success!

Agreed here too.
