Rockit 5

Is there a way to change the playlist folder? It's defaulted to V5, but I would like to point it to another folder. Changing the startup folder setting doesn't seem to pass through to the other folder settings.

Also, I really like the Dark Grey skin, but would like to expand downward the automix queue box to display more tracks. There are needed buttons below it. Any ideas for doing this cleanly? I want to keep search/request/A&B areas. The main library viewing box can be reduced, but I don't know if this is practical given that button bar in between.

Thanks.

Technically speaking, yes, you can change the default playlist folder. You would have to go into Config->General, and edit the INI file manually.

This is the line (right near the top):

PlaylistFolder=C:\SoftJock\RockitProDJ50

Then you need to Save it, and restart Rockit.

Be aware that this can have consequences, because you need full Admin privileges in the folder you are going to use. For example, in Win 7, if you changed it to the root folder C:\, it would not work, because by default, Rockit is not allowed write and create privileges in that folder.

I honestly don't recommend doing it, because I am not 100% sure that all dependencies will be resolved, and would not be able to support a configuration different from the default -- so, you do so at your own risk.

As to the Dark Grey skin, that's an old V4 skin -- I think Randy made a modified version of that, so maybe he'll chime in. If I was using it, I would open the popup queue window, and place it alongside the main window for more room.

Thanks for the replies. Nice job Randy on that skin. That should do it. I guess I couldn't "think outside the box"!

Slideshow question....

Is it set to only fill a certain portion of the available screen? When I used it on a secondary monitor, I noted a black box around the image. And, now I'm running it into a projector and noted the same thing.

Good question -- hang on while Little Ricky looks at the code.........

Ahhh yes, my memory has not totally failed me yet... :)

It's in letter box mode -- which means it maintains the aspect ratio of the source material (video or image). Which means if the image is say 4:3, and the monitor resolution is 16:9, it will draw boxes on the sides. If the image is 16:9, and the monitor 4:3, the black boxes will be on top and bottom.

Thanks....that helps. I'll just have to recreate in the correct ratio.

Yeah -- bascially, you want your source material to match the aspect ratio of what you are using for output.

In the original V4, I did not have letterbox on, and it would stretch or shrink things -- which got really distorted (and was a CPU drag).

Can't recall exactly when I changed that, but probably 4.2...

Throw us a bone any hints of what u have planned for v6?????

It's sooo Top Secret, that even I don't know... :sqerr: :sqlaugh:

Actually lots :)

But, from previous experience, I learned not to mention much, because some things may not make the final cut, and then people get mad at me. :D

I also don't like to help my competition... ;)

Is there a way to export the entire library in V5? In V4 it was pretty straight forward. I see you can right-click and export playlists in V5 but I can't find where to do the whole library.

Try the Tools menu :)
