I've put an update to the manual on the website a few minutes ago (although none of you will probably read it)... :sqerr: :sqlaugh:

Best yer gonna get for a Sunday morning :D

I'll be putting out a full skin reference, and full command reference, in the coming weeks. I'm also building a new remote request client for Rockit, and probably a remote control app as well, that hopefully will work on an iPod Touch or iPhone (if I can figure out how to program the silly things)... :)

Now that would be F*ing sweet!

Keith, you are probably one of the few, that does not need to read it... :)

Other than the menu changes, and the Add Wizard changes -- most of the changes are performance enhancements, skinning, and stuff like that.

Probably the biggest single enhancement, is the drag and reorder in all the queues (thanx Randy -- love ya bro :))...

Note the icon view toggle in the main track list -- if you like pretty icons (note, not a good thing to use, if you have 60,000 tracks in yer lib) -- it can get slow, and use a lot of memory :sqerr:

Works great for smaller stuff and playlists though. You can even change that icon, to be a naked chick, or whatever you want :)

Oh, and then there is a small easter egg in the About/Credits :D

Hey Rick, I love the new standard skin in V4.2.

How hard would it be to eliminate the computer tree view and expand the library view to fill that space?

Pretty simple actually :)

Find the two lines that look like this in the DJ-100.xml file in the skins folder, and replace with the two below:

Code:
<treectrl action="mylibrary" visible="1" x="015" y="465" w="342" h="290" bkcolor="000000" txcolor="ffffff" font="Verdana" fsize="09" Header="1" NHS="0" NVS="0"/>
<treectrl action="mycomputer" visible="0" x="015" y="611" w="342" h="145" bkcolor="000000" txcolor="ffffff" font="Verdana" fsize="09" Header="1" NHS="0" NVS="0"/>

I just changed the visible attribute of mycomputer to zero, which hides it, and added its height to that of mylibrary :)

Drag-n-reorder is introduced, but not perfected.

Won't let you drag a song from the beginning of the list to the end, it will only go to the second to last song.

Nor, will it move down 'just' one song space. Moved up the list just fine. ????

Unless, I got the 'f'ed up for Randy install'.

If I knew a way to make sure only you would get it Randy -- I would build one special for you :sqlaugh:

BTW, it does work perfectly :)

It moves things ABOVE whatever is the drop target -- as per design. So, for example, if you highlight the item right below the item you are dragging, it will put it in the correct place (where it already is).

If you highlight the last item in the list, it will go above it.

I suppose if I had made it go below the selected item, you would complain it doesn't go above items... ;) :D

Rick I ran Rockit flawlessly for my whole gig Saturday and it was super cool though I used 4.1 cause when I loaded 4.2 it showed about a third of my music in the external drive would that have been because of folders? I noticed when I refresh in 4.1 it came to the same number but I still had the same songs available. Also when I saved the gig log it shows as a rpf file. I cant open it as I wanted to post it in a gig report.

Yep, it works as designed.

Rick once again re-invents something standard that most computer users are used to seeing...a nice line where something you are dragging is going to drop and the idea that you can drop it anywhere. But, enough about this functionality.

Yer a funny guy Randy...

No matter what I do, I will never please you. I somehow got on yer bad side, and being the cranky old man you are, you will never let go of that.

So be it -- use somebody else's software, and stop pissing on my parade ;) :)

Have no clue as to the first question... V4.2 will just copy your 4.1 library when it installs. You should see the same identical track list, unless you manually reloaded all your music into the library after the install.

As to the second -- they are automatically saved as history files (also .rpf). Right click on the history file in question, click Export Playlist to Text File, and walla -- you have a list you can post here :)

But, I thought you wanted open and honest feedback. No? Maybe it's because I'm open and honest out in public about it. Hell, you do it all the time, so why the double standard? Maybe you think you should get special treatment because you have a paid ad spot here???

I love feedback Randy :)

I don't care if it is good or bad either. What I do care about, is whether it is a grudge match, or a reasonable question...

You have a grudge -- I have no clue what that grudge is -- but I know you have a grudge. I can't work with you, unless you come forth and be honest about that grudge.

Making a personal grudge public, does neither of us any good, IMHO.

I certainly hope so -- otherwise, I will put my money elsewhere

No grudge.......not at all........just calling things as I see them. Others prefer to not say anything and move on to the next piece of software because they see your track record of bringing up something that you don't think we need or want.

I didn't say anything that was incorrect about the functionality, just posted how it works. It works the way Rick wants it to work, because he likes to be different. ;)

Now, what will you have to counter with or will you just allow feedback to sink in that thick head of hair of yours? ;)

I give up Randy -- you win!

I have no clue what you won, but enjoy your 15 minutes of fame... ;) :)
