Irregardless of how one takes Cesar's comments, let's remember that this isn't DJ Chat. We're above that here. If we don't care for a member's comments, we don't have to react to them.

I have no prblem with DJchat, as I post there as well. I will recind my "jackass" comment here and now but I'm pretty sure that the collective at OurDJTalk will have no problem with my assessment with regard to Cesar.
It's NO secret here...I'm calling him on the carpet, and he refuses to play. I'm not the bad guy here. I'm sure that you're well aware of that fact.
Okay in no way am I defending or slamming anyone here. If you dont like a member here dont respond. Are we dealing with a bunch of immature kids in the school yard here or what? Chasing a undesireable around the forum doesnt prove anything but the fact that one is no better in doing as such. Think about it.

As much as I respect you, I don't agree with you.
I would be the first to agree that you are intelligent. That's because, on the internet, the only way to judge is through your posts-period.
Since anyone can post a picture, build a website, post listings that will show online, etc...., what possible use would these things be as credentials?
I have no dedicated website, using only the freebie listings. I don't give my street address, or even my town. I reference Bergen County, NJ. My personal phone number is unlisted, though of course I list my business phone.
The ONLY semi-possible way to prove one works as a DJ/ Karaoke Host is to list venues where you have worked, allowing the doubter to look them up themselves, then call and verify that they actually worked there, even then assuming the poster isn't using another DJs name. No one here ( or in any other forum I'm aware of) does this in general. In other words, unless you have actually SEEN a DJ work, NOTHING posted can be taken as incontrivertible truth....
What this means is- as stated above- you just have to go by the intelligence of the posts. Also, if a poster asks about a scenario without giving his or her response- SO WHAT? These forums are places of discussion, and in most scenarios there isn't any one right answer. The questions were posed to learn of OTHERS' responses. Why the thin skin?
Maybe because it's late and I worked my butt off tonight ( assuming that you believe I'm in the business) just call me impatient if you will: I challenge the next person who gripes about ANY other DJ's refs on the forum to explain how they can prove without a WITHOUT A DOUBT- via the internet- that they are a DJ......

You have a point. Here is the difference. Let's say I start saying in threads that THIS is the way things should be done....as normally happens, everyone has different opinions and I state that MY WAY has made me the most popular DJ in my area. I do hundreds and hundreds of events personally per year and am a networking genius. I dont even need conventional advertising methods because I am so good.
I am pretty confident that some people would be contacting other dj's in my area to find out if i'm for real or FOS. The reason they would do this: Because if it's true, people would be reading everything i wrote so they could learn from my genius...or to find out if they should ignore me because I have no idea what im talking about.
I don't go around verifying everything everyone types....don't need to...because most times you can tell when someone is credible or not.
For the record....i believe in anyone's right to remain anonymous. And I believe in my right to think that I shouldn't believe anything they type. These are networking sites, for god sakes. I've received business from people here, given business to people here, bought and sold things and made friends here. Someone that is supposed to be a networking genius would have figured it out long before me.
it's kind of like going to a chamber of commerce meeting and giving a fake name so no one knows who you are. Good Idea!!

for the credibility argument, let's take fuzzy and cesar.
If someone though fuzzy was full of bs and didn't own a Dj business, they could ask me, and I could tell them that I have met him, worked with him, and my customers said he was an excellent DJ. And he owns his own DJ business. He is also a very nice person and I consider him a friend. It takes a lot to get him riled up.

Hey I see it as one has a right to or not to post his personal information. I for one don't have anything to hide from anyone so my information is in all the forums I post on. Now if I did have something to hide or did not want anyone knowing about what I do to support myself, I would not have my info out in the open.
What you guy's are doing is feeding the guy who needs to be fed with all the replies to his posts. If I see a post I don't like or think someone is a total a-Hole I just ignore the thread and move on. Once you take the bottle from a drunk he will move on to someplace else where they give him another. In this case it is here with all the replies. When you ignore someone and they know it is happening they tend to move on out. Ignoring someone takes away the power they poses in creating a negative vibe on the forums that does no one or any forum any good!
