Joe,
1) You have a point. Here is the difference. Let's say I start saying in threads that THIS is the way things should be done....as normally happens, everyone has different opinions and I state that MY WAY has made me the most popular DJ in my area. I do hundreds and hundreds of events personally per year and am a networking genius. I dont even need conventional advertising methods because I am so good.

2) for the credibility argument, let's take fuzzy and cesar.

If someone though fuzzy was full of bs and didn't own a Dj business, they could ask me, and I could tell them that I have met him, worked with him, and my customers said he was an excellent DJ. And he owns his own DJ business. He is also a very nice person and I consider him a friend. It takes a lot to get him riled up.

cesar....anyone?

1) This differs from the examples given. The thing is, Cesar doesn't attempt to give "the definitive" answer- or any other. That's what seems to bother the ego driven.

2) The problem here is that you (or anyone else) assume you have the creds to vouch for another DJ. Remember: Anyone can build a site. Anyone can post pictures. Anyone can have friends act as a ref, or bribe someone.

While in real life, because I have read and respect your posts, that would be enough for me, in this anology one distant DJ who I have never met, and with no more ability to prove themselves than anyone else on the net, could not vouch for another DJ.

Thus, those of the thin-skinned ilk who complain about lack of a site or whatever, really have no more cred than a stranger- except through the strength and intelligence of their posts- just like Cesar....:sqcool:

Joe,
Valid points. The intelligence of once's posts is what is paramount. It's when posts seem unimaginable when someone starts questioning someone's legitimacy. I don't think anyone has every questioned your legitimacy because of the intelligence of your posts. Your posts seem intelligent and well thought out.
I guess i could pay for a fake website and post that here, buy a fake business number and post that here, pay for advertising to my fake business to really fool them, bribe people here to say they have met me or talked to me, but i'm not sure why anyone would do all of that. Sure it's possible, but it just doesn't make sense. Possible, but very, very improbable.
I have found that most fakes and wannabe's out there just choose to remain anonyomous. It's a lot easier. I don't think it is a coindidence that the most outragous claims seems to come from the anonymous. I am not suggesting that just because someone appears to be real that EVERYTHING they say must be the truth. But just like in any relationship, as people say things and I continually find them to be true and accurate, my respect for that person grows and I tend to give that person's post more weight than someone that I may see as a braggart, immature, or rude.

I would like to add: "the logic driven."

Speaking of vouching, I can certainly vouch for the fact that some people (or, at least one person) is anal about consistency in somebody's reasoning--either that, or that person better be really funny. :)

In regards to your vouching for DJ Fuzzy there is one flaw in your thinking.

First I have to believe you are a DJ and I am having a difficult time in doing so because what I take for every day occurrences in the life of a Professional Mobile DJ you find hard to believe. That leads me to the conclusion that you stuck your picture on your avatar thinking that might lead me to the conclusion you were a Mobile DJ but I am questioning that at this time. But let's say you do get paid occasionally for doing events, that still leaves the question are you a dj (Notice the little letters) or are you a Real DJ?

Funny how this works both ways. LOL

Before you get all riled up at Cesar...Should any of you really care whether anyone here thinks you are: 1) a dj 2) a real dj 3) a real DJ 4) the father of Jenna Jameson's kid?

This is the same line of b,s, thinking as with all those posts attempting to define "professional"

I consider myself a Real Part Time Professional Mobile DJ....and honestly could care squat what any other DJ might think...It's totally irrelevant what anyone else thinks, unless you're a client....

I know what some of you are:......... so easy to rile up!

Chill guys !!!!!

Thanks alot, Buddy. My b,s had everybody fooled until you came along and spoke such truths.

We're just having some fun Steve

Are you...? ;)

And no, I'm almost positive, and pretty much sorta sure, that I am not the father (maybe a cousin though...) :sqlaugh:

DJ Sarge to put the thread back on track.

Do you think my posts come from a active Mobil DJ or someone pretending to be a DJ?

Dude, that was sooo sad man :sqerr:

Are you really that insecure? Do you need justification for your existence?

Cool, I dig it too :)

Now -- where's the beef...?

Sorry Lord, he just leaves himself wide open... ;)

question all you'd like. The difference is if you do question wether I actually own a DJ business, it's much easier to find out. You suggesting that questioning things is a good idea because there are so many scams out there. As i've said earlier, I believe you DJ, I just don't believe you are nearly as successful as you claim to be. A lot of what i've read suggests that to me, and until I have reason to believe differently, that's what I will continue to believe. But the reality is I really don't care that much either way. If it did bother me that much, there is an ignore button...but I find your posts entertaining at times.
Most people don't care who does and doesn't own a DJ business. However, when someone makes claims such as the ones you've made, some people have no choice but to wonder. You probably shouldn't care what I believe, but you asked so I told you.

It's ironic that they GWYW people get so much crap because they claim to get $5000 a wedding, and people say...that's bull...and get very angry because they can't prove it. It's the same thing happening here.

And the pic is not me....just a high priced male model I use to project that professional image:)
