Your making me work to hard here houston I was quoting it from one of your posts . And cesar is right I will not post the venue that has some what changed there policy and the planner gets lubed at, that wont happen. The one that makes you load through the kitchen and really could not careless what you wear to get sweaty in is this. http://delriocountryclub.com/corp_events/ its a nice place but hard to get referred there one of the major multi ops in the area is there favorite.

Now I have worked at a place that was very similar to this place and they where very strict. But I just remembered that as others have said I'm in there house and I'm working under there rules. Hey they even made me wear a walkie talkie with an ear piece until open dance started. But when all was said and done it was one of the nicest weddings we did that year. And the planner was a huge help. She would get all the folks for special dances for me. And just all around made the night for our bride and groom and for me. At the end of the night she came up to us and said she wished they we where doing the wedding they had the next day. The DJ was a friend of the family. Hi Houston actually I was quoting from with in this thread and not the one your talking about. Though the comments I was quoting from "you" might have been in reference to the quote in which you where quoting "trying saying that 3 times fast" ). The Rivermill is nice and they do require insurance (which I have) also my setup is one of the nicer ones that they have seen. And they have since commented alot about our speakers system aka "The two towers".

The Reata is definitely the one that is very strict and the planner had been referred to me by the bride as the nazi. But working with her she took care of the vendors and was highly professional. It was nice hearing after we worked with her the first time that she wished we where doing the wedding they were having the next week. None of them are the CC which has the drinking planner. Some of the photo's on the Rivermills site are actually from some of our weddings. The photographer is a favorite there.

BUSINESS ETHICS is not a universally standardized set of rules.
a Fortune 500 company, and a Strip Club will have a DIFFERENT set of Business Ethics.
and since a PERSON is the owenr of the business
it still comes down to a personal opinion of what is ethical or not.

It's a 4 star hotel, The only way a DJ has to get to the room he is DJing is to roll his equipment within eye site of the paying customers enjoying their pricey meals. Is the Venue Manager wrong to not want his paying customers to see DJs use their own discretion and judgement on what they should wear while setting up their equipment. Looking at the Video several posts up I would have to side with the Venue Manager.

I (we) my roadies always have been told to setup in the morning at the venue, so to be well ready when the reception starts - plain and simple (oh thats right its hard for you because you have no idea how to dj)

I have seen this numerous times with countless professionals that give it no second thought. I can watch DJs post here on threads that they leave their working area at the end of the night as clean as they found it in consideration of the Banquet Staff but wouldn't even question doing the two examples that I have provided.

If there is a way they can help where your BLOCKED and cant get your own setup done than YES you ask for help (thats right you ask and everyone turns you down because your the Dj and are stubborn headed all the time - thats why no one will help you!)

this is where you need to look at what YOUR doing not sticking your nose in what others are doing, because one day you can have your ass bitten off and you can get banned from many places

Joaquin what part of California do you work in? Ethics can be regionally based as well. Certain areas your ways might be snubbed and considered unethical. Watch out how you spread your brush when commenting on a DJ forum.
