Blackberry- Yes or No

Looking to get a Blackberry Storm. I want the email feature. I'm a cheap bastard. Is it worth paying the 30.00 more of month for the data package?
 
I give he Storm a big "who cares"? My wife and I both have them.... typing on them is a PITA. I can't wait to get rid of it on Feb. 19th, 2011 - when my contract is over.

Almost every phone plan now has an email feature you can use. I personally think the Blackberry is not really that good of a deal.

You can get a nice Nextel branded Blackberry, hook it up to Boost mobile, and pay $50 a month for unlimited everything (phone, text, data, email) with just a quick 5 minute set up.
 
I was always of the mindset that I would never use my phone for the internet, emails, blah blah blah but I use it all the time. And I was REALLY glad I had internet the day a bride's-to-be mother asked me about my services and I was able to pull up my reviews on weddingwire.com. They booked and that one show payed for 56 MONTHS OF THE EXTRA COST of having the unlimited data plan!

(I have the BB Curve...love it...)
 
Coreen has a "Crackberry" and it is utilized for business and personal use. It's been very handy on the business end of things.... not so sure about the personal abuse that it gets!:sqwink:
 
I don't know that the extra $30/mo is worth it. As understand it Verizon or Blackberry has some sort of special email plan that costs extra. Any smart phone with web access can get a webmail interface like Yahoo or Gmail, I don't understand why Blackberry wants an extra $30 a month on top of what you already pay for data services.. It doesn't seem right but that's what I got out of it the last time I read Verizon's site.
 
Check out the Droid that should be coming out in 3 days. From Verizon, Motorola and Google. It looks to be the next iphone. We will see but it looks great and sounds great. The specs are as good or better than the iphone and the screen is bigger. Google is already working on apps 10,000 so far and open a new music store www.lala.com check it out.
 
I am listening to this debate wherever I hear it...as I am planning on getting a new phone soon and want internet and email capability as well. THe thought that keeps coming to me is, if everyone is chasing the Iphone, why not just get an Iphone. So that is where I am headed unless I am talked out of it. I am currently an ATT customer.

I would have owned one the day they came out had it not been for 2 things:

1. AT&T is the WORST service out on the market today
2. The price of the plan is so out of sync with other voice/data plans, there is nothing an Iphone can do that would make me pay the price for the service.

Seriously, it's nice to have business email access when I am at my daytime job. That way I can return messages on breaks and lunch hour.
 
The Storm2 9550 has a totally different screen that doesn't depress and click. It is truely a "touch" screen.

Additionally, it has WiFi, a full-width keyboard while in landscape mode, more memory and will take up to a 32GB microSD card.
 
I got the 9550 on Tuesday and like it more and more everyday. It's nice getting your e-mail on the fly, and I have 4 e-mail accounts. You can add up to 10 e-mail accounts.

You can also sync it with outlook.
 
I got my Blackberry Storm (Not Storm II which was just released yesterday) earlier this month and I'm loving it. I was Palm devotee for years so I'm OK with small keyboards.
Having e-mail wherever I go is great. All the other stuff the BB does is a real plus. Mrs. H got one the same day. 2fer $49.95 She's not overly high tech but she likes hers as well.

I love my Blackberry. I'm still using a Curve, as I'm not fond of touch screen keyboards for email use (currently feeding 7 business email addys). I'm waiting for the next Curve that will use a touch pad instead of the track ball.
