Blackberry- Yes or No

I decide to wait until Verizon gets the Iphone, hopefully early next year. The only thing I don't like about the Iphone so far is that if the battery goes dead, you need to send the phone back in.

That alone would be a deal killer for me. But I wouldn't buy one anyway since I basically boycot anything Apple anyway.

I have a BB Curve 8330 running OS 5.0. I love it. 2 megapixel camera w/ video, email, web browsing and more. I no longer need to be in the office 24/7. Get the Bolt browser though because the stock blackberry browser sucks.
 
I have an iPhone and I used it for email and business purposes before I decided to get into the Mobile DJ thing.

For me it is a very important tool. I can look up prices for items quickly while on the go. Find out event information. GPS, etc etc.

What I also like about it is that I can basically run an entire business from it as well. From invoices and estimates to paying bills to keeping our books. Its all easy to be done. And for me, if I have something that is easy to do and I can write down an expense right after I pay for something I know that it will keep my book keeping down to a minimum. And it will sync up to Quickbooks, or whatever you have.

At&T service isn't the best, I will admit that. But most communications now are through E-Mail for me. And the iPhone does do that well.

Oh and I can download and purchase songs from the iTunes store if needed while at a gig. And just use a 3.5mm cable and hook it up into our mixer. Good if you are in a pinch.
 
I'm glad to have a phone that makes phone calls
that's all I use it for
so that's all I need!

well, I just broke down and got a Blackberry.

Walked into the mall to get a new watch battery, Sprint booth was right beside it and they have free BB right now, so I couldn't resist.

no,not you breaking down Patrick.tell them you were in a really really good mood.so how is the BB? pros and cons,i know you will give an honest opinion here.
 
Just pulled it out of the box and it is charging up now. At first glance, I really like the interface.

I will most likely spend most of the day tomorrow playing with it since it appears God is going to have a massive case of dandruff here for the next couple days :)

BB Curve on Sprint.

There was an issue with porting my number over, so it will not be fully active until Monday. Right now, everything works on it except for the calls.

I have a very slow learning curve when it comes to electronics and get frustrated pretty easy, so am still trying to figure out some things on it.

I can say, am not a big fan of the desktop software (but once again, this could be because I just have not learned everything yet) because it does not appear you can control your calender and contacts from your computer, just from the phone.

I am going to play with it more in detail day hit some BB forums to learn some more, full review coming tomorrow!!
 
I also got a Blackberry Curve 8330 from Sprint...I just happened to be in Wal Mart in Mid November and found out they had an unadvertised 1 week special of not only a free Phone but a $100. Wal Mart Gift Card...This was with Sprint's $99.99 Simply Everything Plan with a 2 Year Contract....I also have a huge learning Curve but think in the end I will be Very happy..
 
Patrick, your calender and contacts should update with whatever program you designate it to sync with. Mine syncs with my Outlook calender and contacts, changes made on either the desktop or phone will update the other.
 
Just a FYI - on AT&T the blackberry will end up costing you $50 extra a month, not $30. they will hit you up for data, text messages and everything else. the $30 plan is just a way for them to say you can pay $50 to avoid extra charges.

I did get the 32gb iPhone 3GS turns out to be a tad cheaper than my old Blackberry Curve... But if I had to do it again - I'd probably do the Droid
