Hmmmmmmmmm, how to answer this.......

How about this:

disc jockey also disk jockey
n. An announcer who presents and comments on popular recorded music, especially on the radio; a DJ.

disc jockey
–noun 1. a person who conducts a radio broadcast consisting of recorded music, informal talk, commercial announcements, etc.
2. a person who selects, plays, and announces records at a discotheque.

disc jockey

Adam,

You may not like my answer, but you asked, so here goes.........

I can't prove you are a real dj for several reasons.

1) I've never seen you perform in person. THAT'S THE MAIN REASON.
2) You have yet to prove that your business exists to any of us.
3) You don't have a website. *I know what you told me about the designer thing*
4) Your business name isn't listed anywhere in Minnesota - I checked. I also personally called ALL of the dj businesses in/around/near the St.Paul and Thief River Falls area and when asked, none of them had ever heard of you or Party Revolution.
5) You have talked about these events that you've performed, but none of us have ever seen pix of your equipment, your events, etc.

Give me time, I'm sure I'll come up with some more.

Don't flame me for my answer - you asked and I replied.

Nice answer......July 3rd you shall see some pics of my outdoor trailer. If you have called some businesses from the Thief River Falls area...who are they? Funny, because they should know who I am!

There may only be two lower end DJs in my area that I havent met personally! I definitely know all the DJ services up here in my area! So pm me some names, and lets just see who you know! Quite silly to me.

If you have called Grand Forks, or mid to lower Minnesota...you would definitely not hear a hint of words about Party Revolution. Nor should you...I try to stay in the area, and not expand my business in places I dont belong. I've got my territory, and range of where I will travel, and of example...where NFLX is.(Bemidji)..thats out of my DJ range. I would only consider Djing in that area...if 1) I was absolutely requested....and 2) If the price was right.

You didnt spark any flames by no means.....and you will get your answers soon! Yea the website thing does suck for me. I dont have one yet, and I really want one. I just havent found the right person to create my site yet. I have a bro in law who is a computer freak and said he would create a site...but unfortunately he is also a slacker! So...the website thing....yes you got me on that one. However...a website does not constitute if you are a valid business or not.

I could also post some reviews from the clients weddings I have done, if that would help ease your worries about what I do at my events...this would not be a problem.

You want more....I'll get you more on track on what I do, and what I can do!

Party Revolution serve coming right up!

YouTube - DJMN Outdoor Trailer Light Demo

This demo was taken last year....that was cheap par cans, and fab 4s...with a topaz. I know run 4 par leds....four intimidator 2.0s...two insignia 2.0s...and possible 2 Dual Gems or Vues...(Floor filler as asked in another thread)

I havent had time to take a video of the new setup...so this is something I will definitely do on July 3rd and post!

Here is last years pic of trailer.....very messy cords..etc etc! When I look at it now...ishta!

Real is irrelevant to anyone but self and of course the customers who will refer your services cause your just THAT GOOD. Cooking a burger or steak can be on a charcoal grill, Propane Gril or a skillet on the stove, over an open fire or in a microwave ( the secret is finding the means or having raw talent creating a masterpiece). Some have RAW talent others are schooled talent. Steve you know as well as I do some of the greatest guitar players ever didnt take a class, some dont even know how to read music but damned if they cant get the fiddle. I have a gift and most of what I do flows spontaniously.

Sometimes I mix by ear other times I cheat and use the simple BPM method and other times my run has no beats matched at all. Harmonics will allow this to work but I couldnt tell you what key the two songs were but I hear the blend. Am I a real DJ? From just about every avenue Ive had my success stories. Im blessed to have found my gift while DJing.

Now why couldnt I sum it up like this! Very nice JON! VERY NICE!

Adam if enthusiasm is a requirement your on your way. Get a website share some pictures. If you want your peers to trust the talk you have shared, you will need to share more than your font.

That my friend is on the way! The talk is there because I have achieved great things in my first two years! I dont mean to brag when I come on here, but I have done extremely well from my first rookie experiences, and things have went extremely well since then! I am shocked at the things I have already accomplished, but yet I know there is so much more to accomplish! One step at a time...ok...sometimes I take like three....and one day at a time...I am doing what I need to do to continue my success!

I will definitely be more than glad to decrease the front I have put on, and show you exactly what this ol boy has been up to!

I think once I get some video from July 3rd..or 4th Dependent on rain....you will see what I have been up to! Thanks, Adam!

then you finally can attempt to put your money where your mouth is. Prayers answered. answers revealed. The story will have a picture.

Alright this is not a defense of Adam, but let me but it into perspective a little here!

1. I do not have an active website.

2. I am not listed in the yellow pages.

3. As far as I am aware of no DJ on this site has seen me perform.

4. I don't think I have ever posted a single picture of my gear or an event setup on ODJT.

Does anyone here doubt that I am a real DJ?

Now Adam who is this Fred Miller you are talking about?

Adam,

Most of us have seen or dealt with the posers in the past, these are the guys that make all these cliams about the gear they have and every week they have something different.

Many of us have seen and read the posting of the guys who made the claim they did this or that for some great huge event, one even claimed that he did all the light design for some music awards show on TV (but someone else took the credit away from him)

So after a while people go "yeah right" to a lot of claims made by younger DJs, particularly when claims are made that either aren't given with proof or are outlandish to begin with. You have to remember that even when established old time DJs make a claim that sounds outlandish they too are called to the carpet!

Sorry Harry, I forgot about you! my apoligies

To be classed as a real DJ, one must be able to extrapolate the wisdom of studies regarding human phenomena and translate that into a bona fide business which provides an abudant return of profit. Otherwise, the homo sapien sapien in question my not regard himself, herself, his or her grandma, and/or his or her dog as a real DJ.

Quite....quite.

Heres what I meant to say!

Fred Miller is my imaginary friend who never disagrees with what I say! He always stuck by my side, even in the heat of crazy arguments. He is the only person so far that has got my back on this issue!

I am sure what I meant to type was Fred Stewart! Yay! :sqwink:

First, My answer: Adam, you are a real DJ if your satisfied customers believe you are.

Second, per previous post, ( and of course this is just MY opinion) you don't have to prove that you exist to anyone but your clients. However, they HAVE to know, because without clients you can't be a real professional DJ. You sure as hell don't have to prove anything to ME. I haven't been elected to "who is and who ain't" judgeship :sqwink:

Though you MIGHT find some of my freebie ads on public websites if you google or yahoo me, I no longer maintain a dedicated website. I found that those who don't know me have no reason to look for MY site, and so will go through any number of competitors before they might find me.. Those who DO know me have either already seen my work or know someone who has, and have the contact info. I couldn't justify the time or money for maintainance.

Yet, despite having no website, I have managed to stay convinced thru the decades that I'm the real deal. I am also not affiliated with any DJ organizations. BTW, I remember when there were DJs, and there were NO websites= so I'm pretty sure DJs weren't invented at the same time as the internet...:sqlaugh::rofl::sqlaugh:

Does anyone here doubt that I am a real DJ?

Now that you mention it, do you have a picture of yourself with head tilted, one had cupping half a head phone to your ear, and the other fondling your mixer? ....:sqlaugh::sqerr:

Well now actually I don't have such a picture however there might be some out there of me at the mixer fondling some young lady at one of my shows Would that count?

Fred Miller talks behind your back.
He asked if you were for real.
I told him I imagine so.
