I love a good gig in the morning. Got up at 6:00am and tossed my stuff in the truck and drove down to the local friendly high school for an 8:00 startoff time We did sound for and DJed for about 400 incoming high school freshmen. An annual event, the school holds it each year to acquaint the freshies with the school, campus, staff and the jr/sr mentors that will be helping them all year as they transition from middle to high school. Overall i felt it was a very successful gig. Very responsive and loud crowd to be sure! I did a couple interactive games with them including a dance off and a musical scavenger hunt thing that also helped disperse my cards out to the kids. Among others we did the classic linedances. Cupid Shuffle, Cleveland Shuffle, Y.M.C.A. and a mix of the cha cha and electric slides that i did.
The biggest song BY FAR I Kissed a Girl- Katy Perry, staff shook their heads, kids screamed it over the speakers.
