I am wearing that Duffy CD out. I love it.

Sounds almost like Any Winehouse to me, but not quite as soulful. I can definitely see why people would enjoy it, but is just isn't my cup of tea.

She's more like the child of Amy Winehouse and Dusty Springfield. He vocals are much more controlled. She IS the real deal. I watch a bio on her and she was sheltered from the outside world most of her life by way of geographic location. She grew up in like some remote fishing village somewhere in the world. She has a unique speaking voice. She was singing in this style long before Amy hit it big.

I saw the Mercy video on TV a couple of times and all I could think was that she was an Amy Winehouse copycat and not nearly as good. Not my cup of tea musically.

I saw a video of Amy Winehouse live in concert somewhere-she looked out of it, she was awful. Her studio recordings are much, much better. She may have been really wasted. Who knows? Maybe she was really wasted in the studio and doesn't perform well live? I think she's getting bored with performing, who knows . . .
