Maria McKee is awesome. For those of you who don't know check out Lone Justice Maria was the lead singer

She also did a duet with Steve Earle on the Copperhead Road album called Nothing But A Child

Her voice is one of a kind.

If you want to have some fun, toke one up, play that song, and play with the pitch control -- weird stuff

Seriously, folks, I cannot stop listening to this mix I made last night. I even hate some of the songs, but I love the mix:

UP (yuck)
IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE (beat mixed with UP, and beat mixes straight into:)
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST (Queen vs. Miami Project)
GIMME MORE
NO ONE REMIX (one of the most annoying songs of all time for me, but beat mixes with:)
NOW THAT YOU GOT IT REMIX FEAT. Damian "Jr. Gong" (speed it up after beat mixing with NO ONE)
WHAT IS IT (Baby Bash feat. Sean Kingston--don't really care for the artists, but I freaking love this song!)
KILLA (so so def remix)
OVER & OVER
PICTURE TO BURN
HEAVEN HEARTACHE & THE POWER OF LOVE
HOW LONG
GOODBYE DAUGHTERS OF THE REVOLUTION
NEW ORLEANS IS SINKING
OUTTA MY HEAD (man, I really dig this song--it's so 80sish, and I hate the 80s, but I love this song!)
IN MY ARMS (love it! love it!)
FUNPLEX PEACHES PLEASURE SEEKER REMIX (beat mixes with IN MY ARMS, and this is freaking awesome)

Man, I dislike most of these songs, but some are just so cool. The mix goes from the lowest depths of humanity to an interstellar elevation. I cannot stop listening!

The new CD from Duffy, titled "Rockferry":
51xNrzL-%2BlL._SS400_.jpg

If you haven't heard her, check her out - the whole CD is a throwback to the British Pop sound of the 1960s.

If you've only heard "Mercy", the first single, you're missing out - there are at least 4 songs on the CD that are much better. My favorite is "Delayed Devotion".

The best part about the CD: It's short and sweet - 10 tracks, 39 minutes in total. Remember when albums weren't all 18 tracks and 74 minutes long, and you could listen to an LP over and over and over in a single day and not tire of it? That's what this album's like. I got it yesterday, I've listened to it four times today, and I can't wait to put it on again tomorrow.

I am wearing that Duffy CD out. I love it.

I'll check it out for sure, but except for Motown, I'm not a fan of 60's music.
