Okay Rick, I actually have a question.

Is there any way to stop Rockit from leaving those little ".XXXXXX" files in my folders?

Thanks.

Yeah -- turn the read only attribute off on the files ;)

You can do that quite easily, by changing it on the top level folder where your files are stored.

Rockit is updating the play counter in the files after it plays them, and if they are read only, it creates a duplicate file with the .xxxxx extension.

The read only attributes on the files are unchecked. Even if I turn off the view hidden files and folders, I still see them. I am using Windows 7 64bit

You can delete them -- Rockit's not using them.

The read only attribute may be inherited from an upper level folder, even if it doesn't show up on the individual file's Properties...

Rick, for some reason, my Rockit stopped saving my play lists on 12/30/2010. Is there something I can do in the settings to have it start saving the list again?

That's another problem I was encountering...along with songs being duplicated within the playlists as well.

Do you mean history lists...?

Mine are working fine...

Double check in the Config->General that Auto save session history is checked. If you are not getting an error message, it means it is saving them -- check the history folder on the Config->Library page, and make sure it's pointing to the right place.

@Randy, as to the songs being duplicated, I've never been able to duplicate that, unless I double-click a song too fast, and it loads twice. V5 loads much quicker than 4, and uses a separate thread. If the pre-processor is turned off, you'll never notice if you clicked too fast, and it loaded twice.

No double clicking being used....drag-n-drop.

No, all mine are either Home Premium or Pro.

The RockIt created playlists folders load very slow on Ultimate...just like if it was reading from an external or hard drive windows config in the V4 version (before you implemented the new fast threading system in V5). Very heavy CPU usage.

I'm not here to slam V5 intentionally, but from my testing & personal opinion, it wasn't an upgrade due to the problems I'm encountering. I'd love to be able to utilize some of the perks V5 offers, but at this time it's still too buggy for me to use; so I'll continue to use V4.2 as it's been rock solid...just a bit less user-friendly when doing some tasks.

Rick, I checked this, and it is checked marked. I just unchecked it and re checked it and saved it, but its still not bringing up my history since 12/30/2010.As for the history pointing, it says C:\SoftJock\RockitProDJ50\History. I believe this is what its been set at. I havent changed that at all.

Do a Windows search on your entire C: drive for *.rpf files, and see what you come up with. If you find any in any other folder then C:\SoftJock\RockitProDJ50\History, then something is hosed in your configuration.

If not, is the time and date set properly on your machine, as well as the locale? Rockit generates the history names by reading that from Windows.
