I'm sorry. I thought you and Kris would understand multisyllabic (i.e., "big") words.

Yeah, it was funny. For about a tenth of a second. But you managed to deflate my intention in the post I made. You stated that Father-Daughter dances are "a tender moment" for you, and I suggested a song that has a tender meaning as a last song at such a dance. Or was your statement made in jest? (Oops, another big word!)

I'm not the Humor Police, but I am the Official ODJT Corrections Officer! I acknowledge (Oops, there's another big word!) your attempt at humor. It just wasn't in the right place in this thread.

Big words? Aren't you an educator? How small is your vocabulary? Are you jealous of mine? What's the use of your snide comment? Oh, sorry. I forgot. Let me rephrase that. Why did you dis me by sayin' that??

I normally would not take something like a little attempt at humor seriously, but you have to remember that he's a newbie here. I've noticed the tone of his posts since he found us. He has come on a little strong for a noob. It's better to read a lot at first, and then post things that fit into our atmosphere here. It's all in the perspective you have.

I got a couple words for you...how about Napoleon Complex

As far as being an educator, I put my money where my mouth is everyday....and while my Masters degree isn't in English lit, I do make a difference instead of sitting on my A$$ and typing about it.

I hear the Mod's coming.....:)

No, Kris, not a Napoleon Complex, and I'm not going to have a battle of wits. [comment deleted by staff] . We all have to be good at something, right?

Make a difference? So you're the reason for our wonderful education system, eh? Congratulations.

Funny. Oh wait, we can't be funny here. I happen to be an educator myself with a master's degree. In fact, I just finished grading the test on trinomial factoring of squares and non-squares.

But, go ahead and throw all educators under the bus because you listen to a radio talk show host tell you how inept we all are.

Double standards and humor. You have it all, big boy!

I've got a lovely daughter Bryan and will be playing Joe Cocker next time we meet up in Disney Florida. She lives in Australia.

Thanks for reminding of the song......

Oh wow. I'm impressed! Trinomial factoring! Ooh. I received a Bachelors in Computer Science, myself.

As far as ineptness goes, I see national test results, sir. I don't need a radio host to tell me anything.

Double standards are SOP to liberals and Democrats! But you already knew that. Carry on.

You're welcome, David! I'm always here to help.

Hugh and Kris, see how easy that was? Buy a clue.

[comment deleted by staff] You know nothing about me or my politics, but I guess that doesn't stop you.

Wow a bachelors. Is that what taught you to think that it is teachers who make students good or bad? Funny how I am up for teacher of the year at my school quite often.

I'm done. [comment deleted by staff] Bye now.

So as it turns out Bryan you are just like many of the kids that go through my doors each year...smart as heck but completely lack the social skills to do anything with it. Keep typing away while the rest of us (Hugh included evidently) are actually doing something about it.

Get away from the scrabble board Bryan and do something constructive with that big brain of yours. I got it, if you have a degree go sub for a year in that educational system you are so disgusted with and make a difference...otherwise your no different than the drug addict mother I met with today who refuses to get her kid out of bed in the morning....then again it must be the teachers fault right????

OK, there is obviously an issue here that isn't at all connected to this thread and it shall stop it here! If there's an issue unresolved, take it to PM's. Tyrone

[comment deleted by staff] ....that goes a long way in the DJ game. Nothing like a hot game of scrabble to get the party started.

Mods where are you?!?!?!?!?!?!? I can't believe I've been able to "engage in a battle of the wits" with a member of such stature without you stepping in. [comment deleted by staff]

And a doctorate in being stupid, too, I see. You know nothing about me or my politics, but I guess that doesn't stop you.

Good job on the TOTY buddy! What grade level do you teach (I assume HS level with the curriculum your into)

I too was luck enough to be nominated this year for teacher of the year in our school out of 130 teachers...and guess why I was nominated? Because I can identify with my students on a level that they look up to, a role model to many without dads at home to do the job, all the while teaching a subject (biology) that most could couldn't care less about... not beacuse I know there are 5 i's in antidisestablishmentarianism.

Knock, Knock, Knock...

"Who's there"? "It's the humor police and I have a warrent for your arrest".

Ok, I understand everyone's point, but Bryan was having a "tender moment"... leave him alone, since he's obviously sensitive to other's comments.

Not the time to beat up on anyone... "whisper words of wisdom, let it be".

Wth an emphasis on "let it be".....

This is what I was waiting for, and I'm glad it was Tryone (your like a big teddy bear).

I've said my peace, and I'm done.

Look for my post Sunday over my 6A Sadies dance(800-1000 kids easy)..I'm adding in my new JBL PRX's and some new diversitronic strobes....can't wait!

My reasons...

The way I saw it... it was a great thread. Bryan jumped in with a great suggestion. A noob, who was probably trying to be funny or sarcastic (who knows) made a comment that made Bryan react with a defensive jesture (maybe over the top... not sure myself), but the mud slinging started.

We don't do that here, no matter who is right or wrong. Simple solution... I edited a few posts and deleted some others. My "let it be" comment was serious. Please continue with positive responses, and if you intend to be funny or sarcastic, be sure others will understand your intention.

The "humor cop" has spoken...

Ok since Tyrone has spoken and Ive been away doing a dance....I come back and this....TO ALL GET OVER IT.....I happen to agree with Bryan on this....the dance was special and the comment on the song he made was dead on.....maybe the Madonna comment needed a j/k beside it....

To those of us who have daughters this is very special....for me to witness the faces of all these young ladies dressed in very nice dresses and gowns smiling ear to ear while dancing with dads.....and dads wearing suits and some with tuxsedos and a very big grin each and everyone of them.....sometimes we need to know when to keep it in perspective and not joke around....my take on it...

I love doing Father/Daughter dances. I always start the event with Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder. Great Song!!!!!!

As long as you guys behave. That's the ticket. :)
