Ok guys and gals. I have put a voice over on our website. So far it has not stopped traffic or calls for our business. With that said, I want to present us in a certain light. I guess what I'm asking for is to have you folks listen to the voice over. I'm slightly hesitant to ask because sometimes it can be like throwing meat to wolves lol sorry wolfie :sqwink:. I'm just checking to see what you guys think. Be easy with me here if you don't like it I don't need "its because you suck and your family sucks back to the stone age." Pretty much just yep I like it or nope don't really care for it. If you stay on the webpage it will only happy again in 20 minutes.

Ya know what Dave. It was you doing it and your timing in my opinion was very good and yet it was relaxed. Careful with proper pronunciation and lack of crispness. I say it is very good. Most important it was your voice and I like that
 
Thats kinda what I was looking for Jon I figured at least the bride could have an idea how I sounded and whether I complimented the feel of my site and the song. I'm trying to conjure an image in a brides mind. I kinda do this when we do special dances. And so far it has been very effective.

For instance when I bring out the mother for her dance with her son and yes I check and make sure all the info is correct. I will say something like' She was there for his first steps. She was there for his first day of school. And ladies and gentlemen she is here now to dance with her son.

Thats usually the time I will have my wife bring a rose ( We have it done by our local florist very nice) out to the mother of the groom and tell her that this is from her son on his special to say thank you for all the years of being there for him. This almost always gets tears and me smiling and the audience crying. I love it. :sqwink:
 
The voice over is a nice touch to your site Dave as with the rest of the site it is very classy.

The Rose idea is awesome I'll be stealing that :sqwink:
 
Originally I was going to do the thing that I saw in the 1 percent solution from randy bartlett. But I soon realised the bride had all the flowers already. I know the mom is the the other lady that is dancing with the groom. Moms are easy targets for the gusher effect lol. I don't even try and hide it from the bride. I even enjoy telling my brides my goal is to make them cry and make them sweat. :sqerr: If I'm getting tears then I'm hitting the keys that I want to hit. And if they are sweating then they are having a great time on the dance floor. I remember a client tell me once she liked Bete Midler. So at her event I was having a hard time playing that slow of a song everyone was drinking and wanted fast stuff. This was a huge block party. I finally decided to play this song. YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. I added before I started the song. Racheal I know you like bete midler so this song is for you and then started it.

The party was for her son who had just become an officer in the navy after 13 years. She started balling to the point I thought I was playing a song someone might have died and this had been there favorite song. After some major comfort and about 1 minute of the song she looked up to me with tears in her eyes and said thank you so much and got up and put her arms around her son and hugged him and kissed him on the cheek and danced this dance with her son (she was dancing with her hero). Honestly I was very glad it was dark because I was crying. :sqrolleyes: I love it because music can touch your soul. It's a gift from God.
 
Nice one. Way better than all the loud, cheesey ones.

I dare not do this as I couldn't be serious for too long - like 2 seconds and I'd be cracked up at myself.....
 
Good job. You sound relaxed and personable, just as you should be. But......

When you're talking, pot the music down some. You're competing with the vocals in the song, and it's easy for a visitor to be distracted and miss what you say. Besides, there's plenty of song left when you finish talking!
 
While I thought it was well done, most brides are checking out web sites at work and would quickly dump out of your site if they had their speakers on.
 
Sounds Great!!! Good pacing, nice feel and personality. The only thing I can complain about is some of the enunciations could be better.
 
Dave I thought I made that clear that it could use the enunciation clarity.<-------------Im waiting to get blasted by Durio for that one LOL.
 
I say thing with good intent and constructive criticism.

It sounds a bit bla. It's to somber for me. A wedding day is suppose to be the happiest day of their life. What is the feeling you're trying to put forth? I think you're trying to sound romantic but I'm just not feeling it. Event the great and almighty Peter Merry needed to use a recording on his website. Why? Where do I begin?

Anyway, try this on another take and see how it sounds. Try smiling while you talk. Don't ask me why yet, just give it a try. Or, if your happy with what you have then just ignore everything I just said.:sqwink:



Nice picture on your website. I just bought the same one for my new cards. I think Papa Duce is using it as well. Maybe on his Bubble Party cards or something.
 
Ron , Dave had his for a very long time. Then Papa had it and now you. Is there a membership fee? I want one!!!
 
I loved the idea...however heres the honest truth!


I also feel you should be more upbeat...but push across the same effect! The wording, are words I would love to hear browsing a DJ site. I would cut out the husband wife team....unless thats your sell point!

It was alright.....but at the end of your voice over..I felt as if you lost your moment of clarity, and your words were scripted....like you were reading something! Even if you were...to help you keep track (which is ok)....you need to sound less scripted and more upbeat!

But yea.....100% on board with this idea! It does create the thing I would be looking for. Also.....let the music play a little more than just starting to talk! I was kinda annoyed to hear like a beat of the song, and "BOOM" there you were...kinda loud! Took me by susprise. So let the music que up a little....and break your way into the message, and you will get demanded booking as soon as that message passes! I would honestly consider booking you (no matter what price) based on your site!

So from Adam...on a scale of 10....you get a ......................

So recreate your voice over, and make it rock out man! Very good!
 
Just a side note.... on the bottom of the site, when the sound is "on", it shows the name of the song playing...

BUT, the title is spelled wrong. You might want to correct that! I believe it is suppose to be we are man "and" wife.... NOT, we are man "an" wife. Just a heads up if you haven't noticed it...

You can buy that picture on Fotolia or iStockphoto for anywhere between $1-$5 depending on size and quality. It's a standard royalty free photo. The thing I found with those photo's is most of them are Russian or Foreign photographers with Russian or Foreign couples. It's easy to tell if they are. In one photo I bought there was a sign in the background printed in Russian. Another way is the name of the photographer. And yet another way to tell they are Russian or foreign pictures, the girls are real pretty while the guys foreign homely look to them.:sqbiggrin:

I don't think I could do that Romantic thing either. You need someone who either speaks with a French or Italian accent. I think you can still do romantic, just try and flow it better.

Here's another technique to use if you have an audio editor. Record your script line by line. Record the first line or phrase a few time using different styles. Then do the same for each line. You can then use the best takes and edit them all together. This way you don't need to repeat the entire script if you make a mistake or you're not sure if you like it. If you listen closely to Radio commercials you can hear them doing it the same way. Just something else to consider.
