I'm having a ball right now with this camera. I just bought a Sony 8 gig card to use for videos. I paid less then $8.00 for the card. I can't wait to see what the video will look like.
B Sharp could you say how you really feel. LOL! Don't worry I have a tripod too. Please be kind. I'm keeping the camera for now and learn what to do and what not to do. Unless B Sharp you want to buy me the one you want me to have.
Brendan - Does the T2i auto focus during video?
I guess in a photobooth application it should be moot as you are at one fixed distance....correct (in doing video)

As the other Steve noted, the 50mm f/1.8 lets in more light than the standard kit lens, which is ideal if you're shooting video at your events. I use mine on my T3i, which is for personal use and occasional pictures from my events.
For my Photobooth, I use a T2i with the 18-55mm kit lens and zoom in to about 24mm.
