You are wrong. I have not said that you all were wrong, my stance is that I do not either usually do those things or have the need to do those things because of the Events I accept. So don't twist things to rally your kind of support. That is what you have been doing throughout the whole thread. Twisting things.

Fyi, when you respond to posts like you did below, it makes people think that you believe what they are doing is wrong. I don't believe Mike is twisting anything. You may not actually think that, but we can only go by your posts.

I am only responsible for what I say not what Mike and others understand. If they are not sure what I mean all they have to do is ask for a clarification.. They haven't but I have offered it time and time again throughout the thread. The mere fact that they continue to misunderstand tells me that some have bad luck in comprehending. As you yourself have quoted, I can only go by their posts!

When I do wedding,I've always been hired at the Mc as well as the Dj. So it's my job to make the announcements, which makes me want to verify we are all ln the same page before i make an announcement. I've never had a client, or a wedding planner ask me to please make the announcements without verifying that everything is ready.

My clients, and the planners seem to like the cooperation between myself and all of the vendors. All of the planners I've worked with are human. They can forget something. Even the good ones.

I do suppose when the day comes that someone hires me to not MC, but only DJ a wedding, I won't double check or verify anything. It just hasn't happened yet

BINGO!!!!! Not because it has not happened to you or others does it mean that it also has not happened to anyone else. That is what I have been trying to make you all understand all along. Did it have to take 15 pages to get to this?

I disagree. When you post something, and just about everyone sees it a way you didn't intend, then you need to take some responsibility and say.....".maybe I worded it wrong"

Many don't even read the Posts or the full thread, they jump on the other person's band Wagon because it is ME on the opposing side. I have seen it time and time again. Others are defended for some of the same things I am accused.

Pretend it's cooperation if you must but, all this double and triple checking of other people comes from paranoia. You're so afraid of looking foolish you can't really cooperate - you have to double check everything they say and do. You call others human and claim they make mistakes yet, not you. You're always too smart to really cooperate.

I have done weddings where

-Venue said the were ready to cut the cake, no utensils

-Bride said Dad was ready to go but he was in the bathroom

-^^^^^Please address these scenarios and how you would avoid them. To say it doesn't apply is nonsensical. It APPLIES TO ANYONE WHO DOES WEDDINGS. If is a fact and not arbitrary.

Your post clearly illustrates you do not understand how weddings work. You are wrong and you and Houston's inability to clearly answer questions (such as above) prove you are wrong. Answers such as "it doesn't apply" is foolish as it applies to all weddings. That is a fact not an opinion.

I see you have found another way to repeat yourself! Do you also carry a defibrillator in case the Bride or Groom gets a heart attack? Maybe the one the Venue has is defective!
I have never had a scenario like the one who are describing but I know they exist, I have heard stories like that. You have never been to a scenario like the ones I accept as Gigs, yet you refuse to believe they exist. I don't know what else to tell you Dude! Have you ever considered that Amateurs make up the majority of the bunch in any field and therefore Amateurs are more likely to encounter stuff that Pros don't? It could happen to anyone, Florist, Photographer, Bartender etc. DJs are not immune from it!

If a bride tells you that her dad is ready and he then goes to the bathroom does your extensive experience prevent that?

If a venue fails to ensure there are utensils for cake cutting does your professionalism prevent it?

To say that you are above such things happening is nonsensical and not even remotely logical. Your premise is that a planner would NEVER make a mistake. A venue would NEVER make a mistake and it's your professionalism that would prevent it. Truly laughable. You could not do weddings regularly without these things happening. It is a fact. Not debatable. And you don't realize this because you don't. do. weddings.

You refuse to listen to people who actually do weddings. You say these things don't "happen to me" because I am a true professional when in reality your approach would result in miscues regularly if you actually did weddings

Your answers further continue to embarrass and show your lack of understanding how a real wedding works.
