Every queue within Rockit, has a pop up menu (right click) that looks like this:
![]()
So, there are many options to do this.![]()
I like the popup menus you mention. Perhaps adding some keystrokes would be nice too? (CTRL+UP, DOWN, etc)

This is all well and good, but can it wipe my nose? :sqerr:![]()
That's yer job dude -- map the shortcuts, under Config-Shortcuts
I just write the code -- you make it do what you want![]()

So, let's say I was using the automix then. ?????
So, you get a request. One that you don't necessarily want to play next, but let's say three songs from now where it will fit in so nicely. For me, I don't want to babysit that song. I want to pull it up and lay it right in nicely to the show I'm building. NOT add it to the automix que and do a bunch of hocus pocus right clicking or short cut keys that don't work entirely right.
You put the up/down short cut key in the mapper. Why not program it to at least hold the song while you're moving it? You move it once, it defaults to the first song. Then you have to go find your song, highlight it and shortcut it again.........so on, so on.
You mentioned that you don't know what you're playing next until about 20 seconds before the current song is over. I don't run like that and I would guess most of us don't. I'm usually a couple sets ahead of myself and then tweak as I go with requests or depending on how the crowd is reacting. You do your thing, I do mine. I just would like the tools to do it properly.
Use a skin with the Request Queue, or map a shortcut key to bring it up -- it's a separate queue...
Still lost here...
There are sooo many queues available, that I just can't fathom why one song has to be in place number 5, and another in number 10.
I honestly think you just want to debate Randy...
I already said I would get to it, but on all honesty, you have yet to show any reasonable reason that you need it.
A reasonable request, requires a reasonable explanation of why something is needed.
No ego shi_t here -- I just don't understand what you can't do, with the tools you have been given...
I do love to debate though, just for S&G
I like politics better though![]()
That's exactly what I use it for, Hank. But, the order of the songs is relevant to me. It's my song set that I'm building. It would just be so handy to have the drag-n-drop to place songs where I want them within that list or the short cut keys to be improved to work.
Press 4 for the Goat.
If you're talking about being able to click and hold a track to move it up or down on the list, then I agree 100%.
That's all I want. Several Things!
1) Randy, putting a post up like this airing a debate between a member here always appears as baiting to the private correspondence to the poster you are talking too. Don't do it!!! If you and I differed about web practices (and we do) and you posted a thread similar like that, I'd be pissed! You'd be pissed if I did the same thing to you.
2) Give Rick a break, in between his beer, and smokes, and caring for the farm, dealing with idiots on support requests, and writing code. He does great and works harder than most corporations developing software as a one man band! He is a great contributor and generally knows what's up.
3) Me being a programmer of Web (PHP) software and Visual Basic programmer (Don't flame me Rick) knows the difficulties of programming in Visual C++ it is not easy, especially when dealing with video and audio. Draggin and dropping is a different beast too especially on tree and list controls, you deal with keys, and index's, among meta data as I understand it from files being dragged and dropped, there is a lot of variables that go into it! Give the man a break and quit busting his chops.
Alright, lets be friends, and get back to happy posting.
