I'm thinking about getting another facade.

I build my own. With a compressor, staple gun, jigsaw, saw and $120.00 for materials you can do your own.

Get over it Jim! Nobody is saying the DJ has to be a showman. Should the florist only use mediocre flowers? Would a lavish bouquet display cause people to forget the reason why they are at a Wedding? A beautiful or elegant DJ Booth is an added feature to the decor of the room as long as the Colors are not Clashing. For me, I would rather have an awesome Lighted Facade than speakers boxed around my ears that makes me stand out and look conspicuous.
I wonder how many Wedding DJs here are purposefully included in Wedding Pictures for the Official Client's Album? The DJ is indeed a part of the whole event and he/she is an important aspect of the Celebration. If one perceives themselves as being insignificant, others will also see you that way and therefore others are more apt to treat you that way.

I agree. Having your booth as elegant as possible will not only bring extra cash it will also allow you to blend in with the rest of the decor. For those of you that don't, more power to you but don't bash those that are making extra cash with a lighted facade. Believe it or not, agree or not, any lighted facade will look better then those setup with none at all any time of the week.

Freddy, If you are using a Compressor and Staple Gun, you may want to look into a "V" Nailer. It holds much better and stronger than staples.

I don't use Mitre joints Houston, I cut out a 2 1/2 inch around the edges with a jigsaw and I don't need to unite any pieces together. Imagine having a doughnut and cutting out the middle hole. That is what I do. I go to lowes by the 4x8 plywood have it cut at the store in three pieces. 2- 4'high x 2 'wide and 1- 4' high x 4' wide. I jigsaw out 2 1/2 inch from edge all around the board. No need to piece together and it is stronger. The staples are for stapling what holds the Spandex to the board. I cut 4 pieces of wood for each panel. I wrap the spandex around the wood and staple the wood to board to stretch as much as possible. Comes out nice and stretched with no wrinkles. I then finally screw in the hinge to the panels. So you have one front 4ft panel and two 2 feet side panels. I can then use the front for a mini screen if I wanted to.

Gotcha I was approaching from a Framers point of view. With the V Nails and Special Glue that Framers use, the Joints are much stronger than the wood itself, besides which, if I had to do one I would use Black or Silver Molding that has a lip to insert panels. Much easier. Much thicker yet lighter than Plywood.. a couple years ago I posted one I did in about 15 minutes except the panels were oil paintings. Anyway if thats working for you so be it!

I was looking on Dragon Frontboards website and thought I found the one I was going to pull the trigger on. The price says $369.00. Then once you pick out the material you want it to be made of and the color that changed the price to over $500.00. To me that is crazy. Why should you have to pay more for the material it's made out of and the color. I'll have to look at a cheaper alternative. I'll see what's out there and just Google the search to find one for a cheaper price that I like.

Last night we booked a Wedding and our lighted facade was again chosen by the bride. She love the look of the facade and the blue color.
Thanks and I think I found one for $350.00 if it's what I'm looking for. I checked with KPODJ and they may have one. I got to check back with them at the first of the month.

I checked with them to see if they have what I'm looking for and to find out a price over the phone. The price on their website is not the price I pay. It's far much less. They just post the basic prices of what everyone else is selling items for. I go directly to their places and pick the items up.

I bought one yesterday from KPODJ for $495.00. It has 3 large panels to it. I'll post a picture when we set it up in the basement and at a gig. It's still in the van. No need to move it right now. Nobody will bother with it. We'll probably set it up in basement on Thursday. I can't wait.!

http://www.dragonfrontboards.com/ - Mix this is where i buy my Facades. I've been using them for 3 years and have multiple styles. They are by far unmatched in build quality and customization. I highly recommend them. I'm also editing my post now because i see your comments above about them. Yes, if you go with the hard material it is more expensive, but the Lycra is the way to go. The way it reacts with the light is perfect. I have one that has been used for 3 years. Haven't had a single one of them fail me yet. You definitely get what you pay for!

The one I bought from KPODJ is made of plexy glass. I can tell it's very sturdy. I haven't set it up yet. Looking to see what it will look like once it's setup. It looks like it will be hot. I like supporting KPODJ. They have great prices and their customer service is excellent. If you have a problem with an item they don't have a problem with you returning it. So far I've never had to return anything I've bought from them. So far I'm happy with them and the item I just bought.

Now they do sell top of the line gear at great prices along with cheap garbage. For example they sell RCF speakers along with garbage ALTO speakers.
