What a bunch of bull pucky this review system is.

I like to see a law passed that if someone said something negative about your business you could take them to small claims court for damages.

Example. The review comment about the guy asking for a drink after the party was over. The party was over the contracted end time had arrived anything after that has no place on a review.

You can .. it's called libel. But those are "opinions", so unless there were untrue claims being made, they are valid in that context. In most of these systems the venue is able to respond, though it appears they either have not or haven't figured out how to find out when they are called out.

This would apply to everyone here .. make sure you google or bing yourselves occasionally and make sure if there are reviews, you address any concerns or thank then .. never write them off.

It's true, Cesar, that a review system like this is unreliable.
Any of those comments could have been made by the venue across town.
Just as Camelot itself could have written a bunch of glowing reviews on how good it is.
But when you see the same sort of problems, mentioned in every review....
you gotta assume there is some truth to it. (even just a little is bad)
The venue would not gain anything from a court case.
Even if they won, it would only serve to bring light to the problems.
 
Have to wonder who was the one person that would limit his potential oppurtunities to make money as a Mobile DJ over a banner on a fence?

I can understand black listing a venue over difficult load ins, difficult venue owners to work with but over a banner.
 
Update, we were in this venue over the weekend and the banner has been "flipped" over for several weeks. Some of the previous negative issues when dealing with this venue never reared their ugly heads.

We asked for no table, and they fulfilled that request without their normal *****ing and moaning.

I set up my speakers where I wanted to and not where they normally designate and again, no *****ing and moaning.

We were told numerous times by the owner and staff that it was a relief to actually have a DJ come in and know what the hell they were doing.

Methinks they're trying to repair the damage that all the bad feedback they've received in the past because of their actions. They've experienced quite a few cancellations this year for various reasons and I'm thinking that it's kind of woken them up a bit.
