My son is working hard at creating my website....
Although FAR from being finished, it's starting to look the way I envsioned it.

www.mikefoxx.com

Since he created a new banner for me as well,
I am using it for a new batch of business cards.
I will be ordering them soon, but I wanted to throw this against the wall
to see if you guys had any thoughts.
(I purposely did NOT list a phone number, as we will probably be losing our land line)

I like it, but if you can get the mug to look carved as well (no white) .. I think that would be cool. And change the font on the email line .. doesn't work with the others.

I don't get the email, I think it's confusing...

IMHO, you should use an email addy from your main domain name. Let's say you decided to move, you would no longer be using your current ISP, so your email addy would change. So you would setup an email account called goldplated @ yourdomainname.com (I intentionally left the real name out, so you won't get spammed).

It aso helps with branding, and keeps the name consistent.

I'm only ordering 250, and I don't plan on moving or changing ISP's
Besides, this is the same email addy I have been using since I started.

But I have considered it, and you are completely correct.

While I honestly appreciate you giving me a hug so to speak -- I don't give a sh_t xf:D

You never know what's gonna happen next year. You might decide to move to south FL, after the wife leaves with a local real estate guy.

You have a domain, your email should reflect that. You can move that domain to any ISP, along with the email addys. I'd recommend you think ahead on this one...

Be gentle with him. Maybe he does not know better. If he does and still pursues this route, he should be shot.......twice!

Typical Texas folks -- you need two shots

Try to get it right the first time, and save a bullet.

Nahhh, shooting twice means you give them misery after the first shot, then you put them out of that misery with the second shot!

Mike -- looking better.

A couple of thoughts. It still looks dated. It looks to be a WP site, but a free template. I would highly suggest investing a small amount in a paid template. Mojothemes has some excellent ones for less than $50. WP is the way to go, imho. It has so many options and once you get past the learning curve, almost unlimited opportunities.

I'm also in agreement with the email addy being consistent with your site, but a nice Contact Form on your website to collect some upfront information is also better than asking a potential client to email you with certain info.

Also, just because you plan to lose your landline, doesn't mean you have to lose your current phone number, if you're planning on going entirely cell phone. You can port your landline number over to the cell phone and keep it.

Thanks Randy.
The site is truly in it's infacy. We're using WP as a base, but it's just a place holder for the web address at this point.
Yeah, as I said with Rick, I agree about the web address matching the email.
The problem I have is, I already have my current email address established. Plus I get a lot of inquiries thru my work email. I am just not ready for a THIRD email address. And yes, there will be a contact form on the website.
As for the phone number, I don't plan on keeping the number, as I never really used it as a contact, anyway.
Although all of you offer very valid points,
I was only looking for opinions on the design of the card.

Canute and Rick...
I have a great idea on how to settle your side discussion on firearms.
It involves ten paces.

You could always set up the new email on mikefoxx dot com to bounce to the same place the others go. I have a number of email domains set up to forward to the same master account.

I think it's 20 paces in Texas... :sqlaugh:

But you should be prepared for multiple email addys through your domain. I monitor 20 email accounts right at the moment, through multiple domains. Some are personal, some business, etc. You might have say [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc. They all are used for a variety of purposes, and you can just create new ones if you start getting spammed.

Yeah...I have that at work.
I am not dead-set against the idea, just not tops on my list right now.
Especially since I'll have the cards WAY before the site is finished.
I'll probably setup a "@mikefoxx.com" account after I get the site the way I want it.

I'd like to do a Wordpress site for the photo booth.

Randy - Really like the look of yours...and I presume you did Kirby's as well? +rep
