I've got a HUGE collection of lighting and just pull out whatever I get the urge for or what works best for the facility. I like to have optons because I get bored doing the same ole' setup all the time.
If you use it on a dance floor filled with people it will get lost. On a flat white ceiling or wall it looks awesome.I have 3 of the Revo 4 units. They strike me as weak and don't cover a lot of area. Most of the time I end up using 4 scanners, 1 vue6 and 1 triphase. I got out a single revo4 last week and it just got lost.

ok, I am leaning towards a vue 3 to use just for the ceiling....the light is extremely big and I am thinking about putting it on the ground and just having it angled up....would this work?

Pat - The Vue 3 works best with sound active......I tried to program mine with DMX...It's cool because you could isolate colours and patterns; you could never replicate the sound active mode; the pattern is just too complex. The only part I disliked was the strobe effect; that's not long at all. I used mine just running of a co pilot...You could plug a UC3 controller (or Chauvets equivalent into it).
With a O clamp you can secure it to either a leg of the tripod or just above the collar
Yeah, I was just going to go sound active on it anyway, we have no dmx controllers at all
I think you'd like the ADJ unit better, just for the additional controls that you can have with the UC3 controller. You can turn it and off easily without having another switched outlet, access to a variety of the built-in programs/scenes, use strobe on the fly .... just alot more versatile.
Randy - I don't think you can use the UC3 with the Revo 4
Randy you have to explain to some people that not everything comes off the shelf. There are options available for others. LOL. They get confused when something is not in the box.The Manual lists it as an option.

And, the video does as well.
