Spoke with the sale rep. earlier today. He says they'll sell these units for $2k each or rent them for $125/each. They'll run for 3 hours and have to be programmed (in batches of 7-about 5 minutes per download) after the battery has been inserted. In other words, right before the reception starts. You'd use a laptop to download/program the units.
To date, he said they've used them at high-end sporting events. I'm wondering if this would be enough "wow" factor to warrant a $175/$200 per-fixture cost for a bride. What do you think?
