I bought 2 DJ Spots 250 back in August of last year, after only less then 15 hours of use not one of the spots broke down but now I have two of them that no longer work! They spin but no light and it is not the bulb since I had swapped the bulbs with a new one and still no light. I called IDJ now and they told me to call ADJ which I did. ADJ told me to ship the lights to them which cost me nearly $100.00! WTF????? This is the last time I will buy from these guy's both IDJ now and ADJ. Chauvet lighting will be my lighting company from now on. I should have listened to my friend when he told me not to buy ADJ lights.

I used these lights at a few events but less then 15 hours of use and they broke down. To me either IDJ now sold me lights that were used before and they knew it was broken or the lights really suck!

Lesson learned!

Ok I can understand being mad at ADJ if the only acceptable shipping method costs $100.00 which I doubt. But, being mad at IDJ Now? Why? You've had the light for nearly a year and granted it crapped out after a very short use time... but, that's hardly IDJ Now's fault.... lights fail even from reputable companies.... sorry I'm just trying to understand why you're mad at both companies.

Rob, I have bought many lights and also work for a lighting company down here in Miami, TEI electronics and I know they sold me these lights that were not in proper working condition. I understand one going bad but two? NO WAY, they sold me lights that were probably in their showroom and sold them as new to me. I bought them in August of 2009 which is just about 6 months old. No way a light goes bad that fast unless you use them every week for long periods of time.

Freddy, I have ADJ lights that are 10 years old and the only thing ever replaced was the bulbs! I have Martin lights that are 20+ years old and the only thing hthat has ever failed is the bulbs, I have Chavets lights that are 10 years old and the only thing that has ever failed is the bulbs! I have had martin lights that failed after one use, I have had ADJ lights that failed after one use, I have had Chavets lights that didn't work out of the box!

Sometimes storing lights can be worse on them than using them!

It is just like everything in life no matter if it is new or old it can still break.

Understood.... and I also understand your frustration... you don't expect new items to just die like that.... especially after spending that kind of money on lights.

I can also understand why IDJ Now refered you to the manufature especially 6 months after the sale.

How heavy are these lights that it should cost $100.00 to ship?

Which IDJNow did you buy it from? And did you order it online or from the physical store?

I went to UPS store. I say about 20 or 25

Online

Oh alright, I was going to say if you bought it locally bring it back there and talk to Mike in the Babylon store. My buddy bought a Shure mic from him 2? years ago, it stopped working. He brought it back in, Mike gave him a Brand New unit, because he also said it would be in the 700 Mhz band and would be illegal.

They are good people at the IDJNOW store, just gotta treat them right as well.

a few hours apart?
did they both break down at the same gig, in the same venue?
if so, maybe the venue had an issue with their AC ?

I had a powered sub that gave up on me after 6 uses.
about 4 months had passed, so I was required to pay for HALF of the shipping. the manufacturer had it under a one year warranty, but the deal was they'd pay to ship it to them, and I would have to pay to ship it back.
the shipping part of your problem doesn't sound that crazy!

p.s.
check on the price you got for shipping. the 15-inch powered sub (at least 75 lbs) was only gonna cost me $45 to ship one way.
