I saw this light being demonstrated yesterday and was VERY Impressed. If I was buying lighting I would purchase it (Only $169.00). I am going to recommend that my Light Guy purchase it. The designs were incredible. When used with fog or haze its astounding.
It can give everything from a flat (Curtain/Wall/Ceiling), tube, Triangular tube, scrolling in the air all in a 3D effect with the sides in a kaleidoscope pattern.
Check with Ben to see if he carries it. If he does not, then I would be more than happy to post the source. Its called the Stinger (One with the double lens) by Stage Ape.
The curtain and ceiling effect with moving patterns (Projected mid air) were awesome & breath taking.

Does anyone know much about this site or stage ape's products? In terms of reliablity, customer service, etc?

I looked at their youtube video's and it looks more or less like just about any lazer light I've ever seen... maybe the video just doesn't do it justice

It doesn't give it justice at all. You don't get to see the 3D effect of the tubes, triangle, wall, curtain and ceiling effects. These images are in kaleidoscope patterns floating in the air. I am wondering if Ben has a similar light from a different Manufacturer at about the same price $169.00

Is there anywhere we can see a better video?

I have dealt with cheaplights.com in the past, and had good luck. Some of their salesmen are better than others (knowledgeable and friendly) from what I remember.

I would still recommend buying from a forum sponsor, if at all possible.....

I've ordered from Cheaplights in the past, and yes, they live up to their name...

Not Meant To Push Aside The Sponsor

Ok I purposefully left out the source name from my original post due to respect for our sponsor. This is why I was asking if Ben carried a similar light around that price range. Cheaplights is where I saw the demo, they are in Houston and have bought from them before only because had I had to order a large freight item (Empty Cabinet) I would have had to pay expensive shipping elsewhere (I needed the cabinet in two days).
I still think we should always give our sponsor a shot at the business whenever necessary. This is not an emergency item for me so I could afford to shop around by giving the sponsor a shot. If he does not carry it then I don't see it as an advertising competition.
Does this make sense?

I kinda have to agree with a previous poster. Why talk about how great a light is, tell everyone to get it...and then not post the light name, or where to get it at.

This has nothing to do with the sponsors here, it has to do with the light. If the light is such a great light the sponsors should pick it up, if it's not, then the sponsors have an opportunity to present their own version of a light close to that one AND tell us why theirs is better.

Personally I believe that X-Laser's make the best ones out there. Dan (the owner) has done a lot for the DJ industry in terms of laser education and design of US made lasers.

Sorry to say, but other OU812's video post, this thread has been a failure so far.

^^^ummmm....Houston said what the name of the light is, and didnt say where to get it as to allow a sponsor or someone that has purchased it to respond....others quickly posted who was selling the light.

I agree that its good to allow sponsors to post, and give an option or something....

otherwise, it seems like you have a bad attitude for a newb here.....my $.02

no, not subscribing to any theory that newbs are not allowed to have an opinion. The more information and opinions posted, the better!

Let me be more clear about my attitude comment.....the original poster (ahoustondj) said the exact model name of the light (Stinger, from Stage Ape) , and other posters posted exactly where to get it (cheaplights.com). Hence my comment about your attitude, and/or lack of reading comprehension. The original poster was being respectful about our forum sponsors, which is totally fine.

You have a good point in that we could use more information, and that sponsors should be allowed some time to come up with comments.

Hmmmm.... I wonder how long it will be called the "Stinger" as that name was used in commerce many, many years ago by Pulse Laser (and still is).

Guys, thanks for sticking up for us as a sponsor, I do appreciate it... but I also have pretty thick skin. I'm glad Canute shared this product with us, it's how we all learn and grow in our businesses.

For what it's worth, I don't carry THIS exact laser, but we do carry a LOT of lasers, and I'm certain that we have offerings that would be feature/price competitive. I can also tell you that we will be showing some pretty cool new stuff at MBLV in February. :)
