OK, just thought this would be fun, and a nice exercise in how we consider things during a hire, and what the clients may be thinking.

THIS IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST -- LEAVE YER EGO AT THE DOOR, AND DO NOT GET PISSED IF YOU ARE NOT PICKED!

This is a basic workshop we used to do, when I was in the corporate world.

The scenario:

You are planning a party for a good friend, you have an unlimited budget for entertainment, but you must hire a DJ from this board. You will have 200 guests. You make the ultimate decision -- no one else is involved (you also cannot hire yourself or a member of your company). Your goal is an awesome party, based upon YOUR expectations.

Pick yer preference, than an alternate -- and explain why. Please do NOT say who you wouldn't pick -- we are only looking for who you would hire, and what gave you that urge.

I'll go first, since I started this :)

Hank
Wayde

The reason I picked them, is because they both give off confidence/arrogance, yet a fun sense of humor. I would guess, that they perform in the same way that they do in everyday conversation.

Next...

Kevin because I know that his style fits what I would look for in a DJ (Similar to mine). He trained me after all :) Not sure of the alternate. It's hard for me to keep track of who here still DJs ;)

I'm biased towards those I have met in person, and connected with.

Kevin Nichols - He's almost always thinking, of new and/or better ways to do things. I'd love to see him "work".

Chuck Lenhart - Don't let his claims of "lazy" fool you - the guy knows his stuff.

If I had a third choice, I'd put Cap in this as well, but I've seen him work, so the curiosity isn't as strong. A true class act.

Fred. Why? Because I want to see him set up a full traimped system with some really heavy ass speakers so I can hear good tone.

Kevin... because well, he just kicks ass with his setups.

Interesting so far -- keep them coming :)

@DanBenoit:

Doesn't matter if they still DJ -- you were given a choice. Make it, and stop busting chops.

If not, go to the Hannah Montana board, and stay outta my friggin' thread... ;) :)

Cap, why have you seen his videos and how much he prepares and cares for the event?

And the following takes the cake :sqwink::sqwink::sqwink:

And the very close alternate would be Kevin Nichols for the same reasons.

:)

I don't think Kevin can dance like that, but I'm willing to be wrong about this.

Hope I followed Rick's Rules...

Cap Capello. His wicked sense of humor, his vast experience, his attention to details, his ability to cut through the crap and tell you how it really is, his speaking voice, and he's a hunk! :)

Backup, Jeremiah Nichols. His sense of humor (very important to me), his passion to keep bettering himself, his willingness to put others first. :)
