I'm Shouting

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
it wont let me add songs from itunes! I keep getting an error! darn it! :sqmad:

That most likely has to do with the media being protected by iTunes.... or a media miss match compatibility issue... MP3 is your best bet.

As I mentioned VDJ is purported to support iTunes libraries and may be an option if cost isn't an issue.

Otherwise you just have the cost of time to convert your iTunes library.

Ughhhh I dont know what I am doing!

Startup winamp.... if the Shoutcast plug in is still selected it will pop up too... then start the Shoutcast DNAS (GUI)

From the Shoutcast Source click on the Connect tab and then click connect... as long as you still have your IP correct and the port set to 8000 the default password is changeme

BTW if the port conflicts with any ports on your computer it can be changed you just have to modify the configuration file for the Shoutcast DNAS (GUI) server.

Once you click connect a connection timer will start counting up and a kbite transfer number will start climbing too.

Do you still have that link I sent you?

You must not be on?

Well...gettin closer again!

Let me know when you are ready to try and broadcast and I'll fire up my winamp and see if I can hear ya.

I think I'll start doing a once a week 1 hour show just to get my feet wet again.... that way no one gets bored... I need to decide on a day and time still

<01/15/09@13:49:52> [main] error opening source socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port!

Is this happening while you are running Shoutcast?

If so, change the port it uses to 8002 and change the Shoutcast DNAS (GUI) configuration file to reflect this change....

It seems I cant run both firefox and shoutcast without running into some troubles
if i stay with just firefox..i am ok...

if i stay with winamp...and no firefox..i am ok...

or as it seems of right now!

Changing the port that Shoutcast uses should solve the problem.... I haven't tried to shoutcast and run FF at the same time before. But that seems to be the most logical solution... it sounds like FF is using ports 8000 and 8001 they go in pairs like that so if you change your port in shoutcast to something other than 8000 say you use 8002 for example as long as that doesn't conflict with something you should be good to go.

But, you do have to modify the Configuration file for the Server program to reflect the change made in the Shoutcast Source.

Last night I had both open at the same time while I was listening to your broadcast, and it doing fine??

So just a question as to why today that would change?

As soon as I click winamp...my ff is done! It is really tragic..I have almost given up on this darn thing! I will try that link..but I wont be on ODJT for a bit! :sqcool::sqfrown:
