I'm Shouting

DJ Freddy's is on a larger scale and can have many more listeners before the connections get sketchy. Both are Shoutcasts his is loaded to a multi platform server so winamp isn't necessary as it is with mine.

Does that make sense?

Cryatal clear!

I am a stage hound after all....

If you want a day in the week just give me a holla! You sounded like an FM Talent! LMAO.......

Pretty cool Rob, but I think I would much rather make a bunch of drops and bumpers that I could place between tracks embedded in a web page or flash widget. Then, no one needs to connect to a host. I see no reason to be live unless you want to do a talk show.

Now, that would be cool.... "Rappin' With Rob"

Ok, I know missed Rob's show, but can someone explain to me what this is in non-tech terms?

(and by non-tech, I am talking 1st grade level here!! lol)

It's actually old technology as far as the internet is concerned.

It's LIVE streaming audio. Shoutcast lends the use of their server to the public much like Youtube.

Well that would defeat the purpose and point of Shoutcasting and that is to be Live.... IMO.

It's suppose to be the internet equivalent of a radio station but with a much larger audience potential..... that being people from all over the world.

It is an old technology so to speak...

I know there is a sim game online that allows you to open clubs and even DJ your own club and it uses Shoutcast to do it....

You can do it with Mixmeister using your own PC as a server also. Ive hd up to 15 connected at once but it slows down to a crawl

WAHHHHHHHHHHHH I forgot my password..I cant access today! :sqfrown:

the default is: changeme

Which is editable in the configuration file for the Shoutcast DNAS (GUI)

it wont let me add songs from itunes! I keep getting an error! darn it! :sqmad:

You probably will have to convert to mp3 in order for Winamp to import your music.

Hmmmmm I have mine limited to 10 listeners and I don't experience any problems while transmitting at 96kbs . Usually I don't see a slow down on my end but the listeners experience a lot of buffering on there end depending on their connection speeds through their ISP.

Most of my itunes files are in MPEG already?

Is this right??

And if that is right..how do I just do those files only in a bulk sending??

If you have them in mp3 format you could just search for *.mp3 and with the search results window open and winamp open select all of the mp3s then using the CTRL + Left Mouse button drag and drop it on the Media Library in winamp.

-or-

Do the same search but instead of drag and droping the selection you could opt to Move the MP3s to their own directory and then import that directory into winamp.... then when you add or update your files to mp3 winamp will find them in one convenient location.

I'd recommend the later choice as it would make the most sense organizationally wise.
