You have a bad habit of not drinking coffee, especially at Starbucks!
THERE IS NO COFFEE AT STARBUCKS. They serve yuppie punch that resembles coffee.
I like to pick on Starbucks because I really don't see the value in it. Then again I'm plain old coffee kinda guy but I am addicted to Dunkin' D, I cannot pass one without getting an Iced coffee. Thankfully I live in the sticks and the closest one is 20 minutes away.
Still $3 for a large great tasting Iced Coffee cannot be beat, IMHO.

I just saw a price increase in October
made a tall latte for $2.51 from $2.40.
A regular cup of coffee $1.64 before the increase. These prices vary to region but pretty accurate. The smell is global.

Travis having not spent the 5 dollars has allowed you to have withdrawals thus the feeling of need for this Rant. LOL I get cranky in the morning without my cup a Joe. Thats why I bought my own machine and buy the beans and grind em myself. Cup runs me around 15 cents a cup. Call it Pimpanomics..
Speaking of "green initiatives"
Here in KC, they are "green renovating" 3 government building for $108 million dollars.
How long will the ROI be for that I wonder?
Its not like they are poppin' in solar panels....no....they are changing windows.
Me thinks the original windows were probably about as good. I would think even windows on a government building 30 years ago were still overbuilt and overpriced then and STILL much more efficient than standard window would be. Even if they are 30% more efficient, when will we realize the savings?

I'm not a coffee person, I have a client that I meet with there exclusively all the time. It's just frustrating when you cannot carry business comfortably. I'd rather meet at a 7-11 with a Subway in it, with cool AC than Starbucks, heck the two are pretty much the same, small cramped spaces, small chairs.
thats why I have for the most part met in other venues with a booth type setting and a quieter clientele.
Arby's for me. Usually dead and I don't mind picking up the bill. A Jamocah shake is a real nice touch. Leaves em with a sweet feeling.

I think the closest thing they have to regular coffee is house blend.

Not a big Starbucks fan here. However, I say if someone is willing to pay $4 for a drink, they should charge it. I would.
But, if I am gonna charge big bucks for a cup of Joe, I would at least offer FREE WIFI INTERNET service like most gathering places these days.
At lease in my area, Mcdonals, Burger King , Carabu Coffee and places like that all offer Free Wifi....NOT Starbucks.

The SB and Daily Grind downtown both have free wi-fi where I am (it does not matter to me because I use a Sprint Broadband card everywhere).
The McDonalds actually doesn't have free wi-fi, it is $10 for a 24 hour period access to it.
I have free WiFi on the farm, along with free coffee, and a couple bottles of Sambucca to put in it (tax write offs) 
Don't have to deal with pesky humans, their germs, or their constant yakking on cell phones either...
