A while back we bought a ramp from LITE RAMP to make life a little easier when it comes to loading and unloading our cargo trailer.

I never got around to posting any pics, so here's some of some fat old guy using one...

Here's a few shots of the setup that we drug in....

We threw a black photo backdrop behind us to hide the door, as you looked right through it to the horse barns.

Venue is located on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

I thought the garbage cans were a nice touch...

Thats a killer little ramp - looks wide enough too. Nice clean setup - is that a standard sized setup, or just what you used that day? None of the venues at here would allow space enough for a setup like that

No offense my friend, but you have stated approximately what you charge for weddings. I would want a little more than double that to set up all that stuff. :sqerr:

Man! That is a lot of gear you are hauling. Did you ever bang your head going in and out of the trailer?

A few years back I rolled with a system that size. After a while it became a pain in the butt. That's when I decided to jump into 2 powered speakers and a single 18". Less work and more boom. I added another powered 18 for the larger events, but it barely leaves the house because one is more than enough for most events.

Yup that ramp is just the right width. They come in longer lengths if your trailer of van sits up higher.

We brought in some extra gear (but not everything) for this one as the room is very large.

See next post for outside shots of the building. It's the former Poultry building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, and has been renamed the Artesians building. Place is booked with proms, weddings and all sorts of events.

I believe that all of Ruben's underwear are monogrammed.

Yup Papa we can't command those high fees in this area and we're right there in the upper tier for pricing.

Remember, we bring in whatever gear it takes to do the job and most don't take this much.

As far as the funny farm, I've been there for decades..

That's a ton of gear......the ramp...That's my next purchase....

Steve, your back will thank you. Most of my stuff gets wheeled right into the trailer on wheels. Most of the stuff rides on flat, carpeted furniture dollys, since very few venues have stairs that we have to deal with and if they do, there's usually an elevator to use.

Yup, it's amazing what you can cram into those trailers..isn't it?

Don't expect to get too great of gas mileage. Once I hitch up the trailer, I might as well be driving a large cargo van.

Here's the outside of the building and a bit of info on the venue.

Artisans Building - 6,400 square feet

History:

The Artisans Building was constructed in 1898 and is complete with hardwood floors, restrooms, and an open floor plan. This flexible facility is an excellent location for wedding receptions, high school proms, or meetings. ADA accessible restrooms, four entrances, heating, and air conditioning are added conveniences.

This facility is the second oldest building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds, and was once the home of over 2,000 coops. It underwent major renovation in 1988 and is now one of the most rented buildings on the State Fairgrounds.

Yup, I've smacked the old noggin numerous times.

Yeah, I know it would be easier to go the powered speakers ...... but I'm old school and love the way those big old cabinets sound. When I get to the point where I can't lug that gear around, I'll retire..
