hummmmmm,, dare I try to up-load it... is it a free upgrade?

Unlike any other software I'm aware of, Virtual D.J. has been the longest-running, free upgraded, D.J. software, ever.

Other companies either charge for upgrades, or name their new product different from their previous product (whether it's significantly different or not) and therefore charge you for this "new" software.

I got Virtual D.J. at 3.1, and have had a trail of upgrades through 6.0, earlier today. If you bought 1.0, which was probably primitive (and cost less than today), you could have freely upgraded up through today to 6.0.

So, yes, it's free, if you're a registered license-holder of Virtual D.J. (and I know Chuck is).

Versions bundled with a controller are LE versions, which can be upgraded. If you've upgraded, yes. If you haven't registered and upgraded, then, no. Another way to look at it: you bought the controller, the software that came with it was free. You have to buy the software to get the software upgrades free.

Even though I won't be saying hello to Steve when I vist the board after I'm finished in November, he's right. :sqlaugh:

Buying VDJ is definitely worth the price.

I installed it today, cannot check ACTIVATE in the video tab. Keep getting video driver error. Before this would happen when I would play a video and the activate was not checked. I would then check it and all was well. I cannot even check the box. Any help would be apprecited. Should I just uninstall 5.2 and clean install 6.0?

Johnny,
Post your question on the VDJ forums too. Lots more users there.
Some of them may have run into this problem already.
I can check ACTIVATE and the video screen pops up.
Vista 64 bit Pavilion by HP.

I find it incredible that you can download free music and videos.

I just upgraded & I like it alot! The bpm counter seems a little tighter than before. I am messin' around with some different skins. I have used the same one forever & want to mix it up. HaHa. I just made a funny...mix it up...:sqlaugh:

It definitely sounds better, been playing with both the HC4500 and DAC3 and no problems. 4GB of RAM makes both laptops barely use resources. While loading another song resources used probably goes to 15% and with video it's still under 50%.

Have not tried netsearch since there's no anti virus program on the machines and I'll keep it that way since they are running so damn good :D:D:D:D:D

Everything has been stripped down and they run perfect. I still have all my VDJ versions stored in CD's just in case I need to go back, but at this time I have no complaints.

I want a DMC-1 mapper :)

ty :D

Unless I've got this wrong, DAC-2's are considered native BUT have not yet been mapped. Mapping right now is DIY. The old mapper cannot be used with V6.

The easy part is mapping a button, no problem but I'll be darned to see how to bring up elapsed or time remaining on the LCD. The VDJ scripting is extensive and I don't see an adequate primer.

If anyone has any info on any of the above, I'll appreciate your input.

Net search option is amazing. I was looking for some hard to find ethnic songs and they all there. Wonder how low is the quality of those songs?
And if playing this way is legal in Canada.

I can see a new trend with Dj software...

on netsearch, I typed in my brother's band(shurman)...and his old band(rosavelt). It found some songs and a few videos from them. that was pretty cool.

the one video was someone's home made recording. Sounded aweful.

I still don't think I would use it at a show. I wouldn't have time to listen to the whole thing for quality before I played it.
