if your doing 8 hour weddings - you need to charge a LOT MORE!
This package should be worth $1100 or so in this area. But do I want to stay busy...or only do a gig here and there?
I have chosen to try to stay busy.
I have two wedding setups...so I'm going to hope I can double book as much as possible, because I actually make more this way still.
Me and another dj, as mentioned before...are working on raising our rates.
His exact same package is $1095..which I was going to do, but I decided I wanted to stay busy.
We are going to compare our next couple of month bookings, and either he will drop his price, or I will raise my price, based on reactions from our clients.
We might even meet in the middle. Me and this other guy decided (and I did not like this guy before..til now)..that we are both sick of being the nice guy for everyone, and not making what we should be making. So we are in the process of sticking to our guns, finding out what the market will bear, and going from there. We are both hoping that that market will bear $1095....and we definitely know $895 still might be a little tough...but we want to see what is going to work the best.
I was selling this package for $800, and I just have started to reach some resistance. So me putting a $1095 sticker on that package might have spelled doom for me.
He was selling his a la carte package for $600-$700 last year..so this is a huge increase for him.
Again, we will see what this market will bear. And we will price adjust from there.
