We are considering another system for bubble parties. Think lightweight (the wife will be doing most of the carrying) and enough power to handle the parties. It could potentially double as a ceremony system or backup for our main systems

Opinions?

Might I suggest the Fender Passport. All in one system, clip the speakers to the mixer/amp and go.

Perfect spl levels for small gatherings and cermonies as well.

Hey Bubble Guys.....

I just now - at 1AM - got a call for a bubble party.... In California....

The lady is serious about needing someone... she just didn't know I was in PA....

The party is on October 13th, 2007. It is in Rancha Cucamonga? Or however you spell it....

I have her Ph. # if anybody can use it..... I told her that I would see what I can do.

This came up in another thread... are you marketing bubble parties to your wedding clients? Meaning that if there will be large numbers of children at the event, or even just coming in from out of town to stay at someone's home, do you try to add a bubble party?

I am. I haven't sold one yet, but I am working on it.

Has anybody had a child have an allergic reaction to the bubbles?

Apparently a child at the show I just performed on Tuesday developed a rash that afternoon (one of the advisors recalls the child basically standing in front of the machines the whole time). Fortunately the bubble juice I use has a MSDS sheet available which I forwarded to the school as the parents want to try and figure out what the child is specifically allergic to.

BTW...I was the one Papa mentioned in the previous post about another thread involving bubble parties and weddings, a bride was looking for a way to entertain the large number of young children at her wedding...she loved the idea of a bubble party during dinner, the venue shot down the idea.

no big surprise. They dont want confetti either as it means there skeleton crew for dinner and plate service would have to do more.

I always offered clean up as part of a confetti package.

I didn't get to talk to the venue, the bride asked them about it, so I'm sure there was a bit of mis-information or assumptions about it that I could have clarified.

Just curious, if you don't mind sharing, what are you charging?

I'll still be at $195 for 2008 for daycares. But I am bumping up to a $275 minimum for private parties..... I'm also trying to get 2 hour parties, that include many other activities... I hope to get $350 or $375 for that.

I like the idea of "bubble parties", and I've been thinking about something similar for a while. I guess I'm worried about liability with regards to slipages etc. Anyone ever encountered any problems?

No worries here. We do ours on grass....

With the weather here in Artic Scotland, these type of events would have to be indoors for the most part. Hence my worry.

Ahh, well then, you shall need carpet!

BTW, like Wayde, below, I do not do indoor parties.

I've been turning down indoor winter events. Having done a couple indoors, they are not worth the effort...especially in a private home.

As for pricing, I will also be staying at $195 for 2008.

Why would it not be worth the effort? What do you do if you get rained out outdoors?

A rescheduled event.

Wouldn't that become a pain after a couple of them? I'm not sure I would be too excited to get cancelled and go through the hassle of rebooking because of weather. But then again I'm in Canada where we only get 4 days of summer :sqwink:

Do you still get paid for the original event Chuck?

my thoughts too Jeff especially if you have a fairly busy schedule it might begin to cause issues filling a rain out date.
