I gave away too much rep today Wayde, or you would be getting it! Funniest post of 2008!

DITTO!

Papa, it should install itself unless the folder for Rockit is elsewhere than the default. In that case, just type in the folder for skins.

You know, of all the non sequitur posts I made last night, I personally think the one in the Blacklights thread is the funniest. I think my post in the Sock Hop thread was taken seriously.

Yesterday was a loooooong day for me, that's how I deal with sleep deprivation.

Now im jaleous that im not Rockit user.
Anyway,
Hank,
You did a Brilliant job from my point of wiew and realy you can make a lot of $$$ with youre talent.

P.S.
How can i make something for VDJ?
Jap i know,Rick will say-Buy Rockit.

Hank,
I realize the skin that you developed in this thread is for laptops, but do you know if it will work on a 22" screen? I'm looking at purchasing an HP Touchscreen all in one system that has a 22" touchscreen.

Rick already confirmed that Rockit will work with Vista 64 bit, so the icing on the cake would be that this skin will work also.

Thanks,

DJ Dave

Depending on the resolution (not the screen size), yes.

Dave,

Just to follow up on what Hank said...

Rockit is totally skin dependent -- meaning, the skin controls all operational abilities. So, for example, you can easily use a smaller skin size, on a larger screen resolution. In this example, I'm using a large screen monitor, set at 1440x900, and I have a standard 4:3 aspect skin in use (1024x768):

There is one caveat to that though -- if you move the skin around on the screen, the drag and drop rectangles for the decks, do not follow. The reason for that is simple -- in my stress testing, I found that if you move the screen while a track was playing (and have the drop zones follow), it would use enough resources, to make the song skip (processor dependent). There is also no realistic way for me to save those changes to the skin file when you close the program, as there is an abstraction layer between Rockit itself, and the skin (that's why Rockit needs to be restarted, when you change skins).

So, if you want to use a smaller skin on a larger screen resolution (and move it to a new position), you will need to tweak the skin file, to set the position, and also change the drop rectangles to match. Easy enough to do -- the skin files are simply text files :)
