No offense to you or anything like that....but if you say you can get me my packages overnight...you better figure out how to do it! I don't care if you ran out of room for one of my packages..I paid for an overnight delivery, and their promise is to get it to me the next day.

On a side note...I completely understand delays when there is an act of God. You know rain/snow/sleet/terrorists... I get all that. But to me, if you run an overnight service...you better provide it. None of this..well if it fits crap.

Sure did. Been meaning to come on here and give an update...but it has been a busy day.


Alright so a quick initial review of what I have seen so far.


I got this thing set as to what others have said. I am on 58 right now.

Initially without properly having things adjusted....I was not impressed.

I only had one speaker cable going from the mixer to the Bose system.

So anyways...I got both cables going, and it started to sound more impressive.

Then I started toying around with the remote, and fine-tuning the system.

After trying all types of music, I realized that some songs need to be tuned in to their special setting.

I keep the mids at the same range..I however personally feel i will need to adjust some songs on the remote to create the sound more appropriate.

I'm not saying the songs sound bad...but for example.."Footloose" needed to be adjusted more accurately with the highs. I played some Rap and such, and realized I need to adjust the lows a bit as well.

I was disappointed at first, but then after listening to more songs and realizing I only needed to adjust the highs and lows, and not the mids, I was more pleased to have the control to make the songs like intended.

To the mixer. I don't even close to peak my mixer. I have the volume less than half, and I am achieving some great sound with them lower levels. Also when using that mixer sometimes I needed to adjust the volume from song to song. Now I can adjust only the Bose control, and get better sound.

Of course...I need to use this in a real life event situation and see what this thing can really do. But based on my initial reaction to this unit, I like it. One of the first true tests comes tomorrow.

I also don't mean to say this in a bad way...but at one point I played "Mama dont let your babies grow up to be cowboys"...and I had it sounding just like the jukebox! Yes...it is kinda sad..but to me it was kinda neat.

Right now, I have this thing hooked up to the tv as I am watching the twins play the angels...:sqembarrassed:, and it sounds great here!

I'll give a more personal review once I use this thing in a real gig situation.

The thing that concerns me is that you are not putting a lot of level into the Bose through your mixer. In order to properly gain stage, you need to set the mixer to pass as much audio as possible into the L1. Just about 0db with everything. Then if you need more volume, just use the remote.

Oh yeah, try it without the remote. You'll be amazed at the difference.

What I also mean in that same sentence was that..I am achieving a lot more sound..so that I don't need to crank up the volumes.

I have my mixer less than half, and I did have the control at just around a quarter turn. And it was already getting beyond the levels I that I end most of my nights with. So overall, I gained quite a bit more sound than any other speaker I have personally ever used by far with little effort.

Tonight...gotta go right now actually, I can do some tests before I decide to use it or not tonight.

I'll probably give a review tomorrow..or tonight whichever I am awake enough to do.

Ok...I finally got a few minutes of free time to give my own personal review. This will also be an partial review from the groom who loves Bose as well.


Overall...the cocktail music part was awesome. When we got to the dance part, I was not 100% completely impressed. While the clarity of these speakers are by far the best thing I have heard, there needs to be a little more bass, and I am not a big bass guy! The speakers would rattle my stage, and from what bass there was...it sounded good...but thats it...good.

For this particular event, and the space I needed to fill, one L1 in my opinion was enough, but would have sounded better with 2 sticks.

Now this is from the groom an avid Bose entusiast. He loved the speakers, and thought they sounded absolutely fantastic, and also thought I should have used two sticks for better coverage.

Now...for the actual setup of these beautiful speakers. I found that even though I had to make more trips, the trips were very easy, and I hardly strained myself getting setup. I worked harder bringing in my rolling cart, and setting up the lights. This is a great thing. I was also able to easily store these speakers in my van, which I prefer, as it is way better than floating in the trailer.

So as far as portability, I am very impressed....I don't care about how many more trips it takes me..they are easy trips.


I think this particular model is and would be great for most of my weddings that are in medium size rooms, which is primarily where I normally play. As far as bigger events...you should have two, with a bit more bass. But again..I am not a fan of having to use 4 bass bins with extra equipment to support the system. A full setup, in which I probably should have had, would have cost me roughly $6,000 or so. In which the Dynas...and I am sorry to Bose for this one...would easily blow the Bose out of the water for the same price.

Let me do a positive/negative checklist:

Positives:

1) Lightweight and very portable
2) Crystal clear, it's like hearing the music is was intended to be played.
3) You can play it loud, and it is still clear as a bell, which is great.
4) Bose is a reliable brand, and many people know the name.
5) With my Game Show Mania, I think this thing would be perfect.

Negatives:

1) Even for me not being a big bass guy, I feel they should get some better bass bins. Heck, get me one good bass bin in stead of 4 little ones?? I don't know...either way, step it up a bit.

2) I am just going to throw this out there, and really this doesn't bother me as opposed to how I feel about it, but....Lot's of pieces! Again to me...I dont mind it, since it is easy to handle pieces.

3) One speaker will do the job in most applications, but I think if a person had two running I would feel you would get a better tone throughout the facility.

4) Them babies are tall. I can only imagine that this thing will almost will touch some of the legions and lower ceiling places I play in. :sqembarrassed: Not sure yet.

5) Sometimes I feel like you need to manually adjust songs to make them sound as intended. I think it sucks, but really it sounds good when you do this, and people do notice the difference.

I give this thing a 7.5


There are some small things that could be done to help it along. But I personally think Bose is probably working on this issue as we speak!
