Is that done using "print screen"?

Ducky's selling a CD rig Son... :sqlaugh:

Yeah, you can do it that way. Hit Print Screen, open Paint, Edit->Paste, File-Save As (use gif or jpg), then attach here. :)

I finally remembered to put this new netbook skin out on the website :)

This is just a scrunched up version of the DJ-200 skin, and you can find the install here:

darndest thing

I lost audio while playing one of the 2 biggest nights I have every year. deck still appeared to be playing but I started the other one in case there was some prob with the music file. Next I checked that the usb drive was still being found by the software, it was, then the usb soundcard(the berringer 202) it was still lit up.restarted 1'st rockit when that didn't solve the problem ,then I rebooted XP and started rocket again ..still no audio. After a punt to my back up lappy... I had music again. The next day I found that the volume control in the taskbar was muted. Oddly though, I wasnt within arms reach of the puter when this happened(nor was anyone else) wi-fi was turned off as always. Then I remembered the week before some guy came up asking what my disaster recovery plan was. I didn't tell him the nuts & bolts of my punt position, but within 3 min of the problem he was up on stage saying he's an I.T.guy and offering to "help". My lappy can use an ir remote. Is it possible someone used a remote control, programed with dell codes, to mute my puter? I have had several other cases of "sabotage" at this location over the years, or am I just being paranoid? any thoughts anyone?

Hi Rick!

Another question. This one concerning the 'Edit Playlist'.....

When in the Edit Pop-up, would it be possible to allow sorting of the columns?

Thanks!

I could do that, but I imagine I would get a lot of support calls :sqeek:

When you click save, it saves the playlist in the order it appears in the list -- so if you sorted on something, it would re-order your playlist for you. That's why I have the sorting turned off for playlists.

Also, was there a way to mass update the album art?

Yes -- You would use the Multi-File Tag Editor :)

Important Note regarding album cover art:

Amazon is apparently changing some things about its API starting mid August. They are going to require authentication for certain aspects (which Rockit cannot currently do).

They have not made it clear, whether this will effect the album art lookups, as that is a free part of their service. They've been very vague about what this will effect.

So, Rockit's automatic album art lookup on load (if you have it turned on and are connected), may or may not function after that date... They can't tell me for sure, so I won't know until mid August. At that point, I'll evaluate whether to put the authentication into the next version, or take out the auto lookup altogether.

If they start charging for that, I will take it out, as I would quickly go broke, with a gazillion copies of Rockit out there :sqerr:

Hi Rick! Thanks for the reply.

Concerning the sort for playlists. Sorting and re-saving is exactly something I'd like to be able to do. When I'm creating a 'Best of Series', I just throw the songs into the playlists, but I'd like to go back and sort them by Song Title or Artists (not sure which I like the best right now) and then save it. Is this something you have turned completely off or something within the settings that I could turn on for my application?

Rick,

To clarify on the Album Look-Up......by using the multi-tag, it will go to Amazon and look up the Album Art and update the info. Then, regardless if I'm connected to the internet, it will display when played?

I'm still not sure I'm doing it correctly in the multi-tag editor. Is this in the manual? If so, I'm missing it.

What determines when a song gets put on the playlist?
I tend to load and preview songs then change my mind. So I noticed some of these songs on the saved playlist but not all of them.

That's one thing that I don't care for, so I use the jukebox feature to preview songs and try to only load a song once I know for sure it's going to play next. That way I keep the saved playlist as clean as possible.

You'll also note that the last song that you play will not be saved on your list, unless you load something up after it's over (I think).

I'd personally like to see it add to the playlist, like after 30-45 seconds of play or so. That would allow you to use the main decks to preview without messing up the final playlist. But, I've adapted to how Rick has things designed and just work around the small things I'd like to see improved. (Now, if I could get another gazillion users to back me up. ;))

Don't recall if it's in the manual -- been a while since I wrote it :)

Anyway, you open up the Multi-File Tag Editor, click on Amazon, and type in a band name (album name, if you want to specify). It returns results (hopefully), you pick the one you want, click the Album Art check box, and Save Tags. It will save that to anything you have checked in the list.

You mean the History list possibly???

The History list gets updated anytime a song gets loaded into a deck.

Or, you could just send me lots of money -- that tends to motivate me highly... :sqlaugh:

Comments noted to Rockit upgrade notepad, BTW. I'll see what I can do, as long as stability isn't compromised :)

There's actually an option in the config of 4.2, to Autosave album cover art, as Amazon finds it when loaded into a deck.

Turn it on, and play your songs while connected -- it will add the art, and update the tags :)

For some reason, I had a few issues with 4.2 (not sure exactly what they were because I've slept since then) so I'm stil using 4.1. Guess I need to go back and play with things to see if I can get things to work properly.

Most issues with 4.2 (that I've seen) -- regarded the install.

Since 4.2's install is named exactly the same as 4.1, 4.0 -- when it comes up, it installs to an old folder if you have already installed that same (but older) file, and partially overwrites an older version. The user HAS to make sure the destination folder for the install says 42, in order for it to work properly.

I put the notice on the website download page, but I am unable to change the install filename, because there are a million or so URLs pointed at it.

i had issues too Randy, the install was not going the correct way until Rick walked me through it and everything is fine and dandy so far.

Hey Rick, since the cue point feature in RockIt is able to be set in full seconds only, is there an easy-to-use program that will allow me to chop off the beginning portion of an mp3 that I want to bypass - i.e. "Shout" and Vogue".

That way there would be be no need for a cue point.
