I couldn't pass it up any longer with my HD2500 giving me trouble I went for the Pay As You Play option with Zzounds and ordered a Denon 6000 mixer controller.... all the positive tall here helped that decision.

I'm sure I will... I probably would have waited if I hadn't got my hands on one and was able to feel how solidly built it is...
I believe it to be Midi communication issues and possible physical trigger problems within the unit.... at times Deck A will freeze and/or when the play button is pressed nothing happens.... unload the deck re-load sometimes but not always solves the problem....
I can only get this problem to happen randomly and it doesn't always happen every gig but, it's happend during special dances and that's enough of a problem for me.... I've even had it stall in the middle of a song... I know my files are good and clean since I ripped the ones from CD and purchased the rest from good sources....
I plug in my Numark Total Control and have zero problems all night long.... but, no built in sound card.
I will still keep the 2500 and X500 mixer combo... for a backup unit/ceremony/extra rig
I had the same problems. The internal 40G HD is a joke and would occasionally become disengaged.
I started using external HDs, but found that the pre-made ones have software installed on them that causes it to go into a sleep mode.
I bought a 2.5 ext. HD & installed it into an AC powered enclosure case & it works PERFECTLY. No problems in 1+ yrs. Having an AC powered external HD is very important.
I still use my HD2500 at every gig.
I don't use the internal harddrive or an external with it like a standalone... I just use it as a controller.
What I mean is unlike Bill I don't use the HD2500 Internal HDD or an external plugged into the HD2500....
So, who uses the mic inputs on their DNMC-6000?
I have the X500 mixer and since there is only a level control and no separate gain control I find the mic inputs to be extremely hot.... is this the case also with the MC6000, as I don't see a Gain control for the mics on it either?
I don't want to setup only to find out I still need to use my external mixer for microphones like I do now and definately don't want to find that out live.

External Mixers for Mics are usually more superior to the onboard mics outputs on most DJ Mixers. Next time have all your questions answered before making a purchase. If you are not sure it will work the way you want and you have not received the unit as yet, you could always refuse delivery and have it sent back.
I will always look at the mic options last on a mixer as an external is what I would go with 99% of the time anyway. My A&H Xone DB4 has just its one mic input, but the truth is with the input routing matrix I can use am external mic mixer and feed it to any input I want, which I prefer as I don't like the xlr input on the top of my mixer, rather have it feed to the rear, only use the top input with a boom mic.
Now that would be astoundingly stupid....

And whether or not it has sensitive mic inputs doesn't matter as I will just continue using my external mixer for mics if that's the case.
It doesn't have a separate gain aparty from the volume, but it does have a volume dial for each mic, plus each mic has it's own 3-band EQ dials on the front of the unit. It also has a POST button so you can turn it on or off in the monitors, plus ducking and echo. I use the mic when I do my mix shows online, and I have never noticed any heat difference at all. The whole unit stays remarkably cool actually, even when I have it on for 12 hours straight (I do a lot of testing things out, and I use it for different remix aspects, so I just usually leave it on when I am working on stuff).
It gets a LITTLE hot right where the power supply is, but nowhere close to how hot the x1500 mixers get. My old 1500 used to get so hot that I broke the crossfader twice because the metal was SO hot that it just snapped off while scratching. I cant speak for the 500, but I am guessing it probably got about the same from what you are saying. I couldn't rest my hand next to the faders, it was so hot I could have burned myself... not joking lol.
But the 6000 does not get anywhere near as hot. Granted, I have not used the mic for long periods of time, but I don't think it will get too hot, judging from what I have seen so far.

By hot I didn't mean temperature I mentioned that on past Denon mixers I've had, x50 and current x500, the mics are hot gain wise.

A hot mic to me has always meant one that has extremely sensitive pickup which generally translates to a higher tendency for feedback issues. Which is what I experienced with the x500 mixer and why I use an external mixer just for mics.
