Why can't the $50,000 figure be used just like the final exam to pass the bar or what ever other obstacle you have to pass to become a certified professional.

But why $50,000? Why not $100,000 or $20,000.? They are all arbitrary numbers one doesn't make you any less or more professional than the other. Now if you are talking about what a full time DJ needs to make it becomes a little less arbitrary but is still based on needs.
A Doctor can make anywhere between $100,000 and $1,000,000 and I'm sure beyond. There are very few at either end but a big pile in the mddle. They all have PhDs is one more professional than the other or is it more based on ambition or need?
