I have to get a faster cd-rom in my desktop though.....this ancient bird is slow and takes too long to transfer. :(

Not sure how long it takes you, but even on my iMac it takes a while. There is quite a bit of music, and even in MP3 format it's a large amount of data.

I also import everything to iTunes, so that takes a bit for it to organize everything.

It would be really cool if it were distributed on thumb drive as transfer speeds are faster over USB. Even better as a download. :)

Thumb drives would be expensive, and I think a Download would be even more so. The amount of server space and serve resources it would take to handle XX amount of people downloading a 350mb download weekly would be crazy.

I think it would increase the price of the service quite a bit I would think. Plus I like having a CD backup. It would be quicker to re-rip the cd's then to download gigs and gigs of music.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree with having a physical backup. With bandwidth the more you buy the cheaper it is. Overall I think going the download route would be cheaper than blank CDs and postage.

True. The same with postage and CDs. Plus the time to burn them, package and ship. I would guess it would be about the same in the end.

WOW!!

I got my first shipment of discs yesterday of the weekly MP3. I can't believe how much music is on them. From the weekly release to all of the HitDisc's & latin (every other week); it's great!!

Glad you like it Randy!

Thumb drives would be way too expensive. Downloads aren't possible--record labels won't let companies like us post music for downloads for DJs. Even if we could do downloads I bet most would want the disc for back-up.
