Dennis, perhaps they need to start having seminars and conferences in Australia as we have here in the States. I have to tell you that the educational offerings at such events not only invigorates and inspires the attendees, but it educates them on how to run their business, how to improve their performance, how to market themselves and most importantly, how to become profitable.
The DJ Industry is running well here in my neck of the woods. Our Disc Jockey Network attracts nearly 100 professional DJ entertainers each month at our network meetings. Our neighboring Eastern Pennsylvania Mobile Entertainers Network, although in its infancy, is attracting upwards of 40 professional DJ entertainers each month at their meetings. In Connecticut, the local ADJA is flourishing, as are neighboring groups in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The Washington DC ADJA Chapter is enhancing the DJ market in Virginia and Maryland.
Like my good friend "Big Daddy " Sean McKee says....." POSITIVE ATTITUDE"
( Big Daddy was selected as the DJ Times and Mobile Beat DJ of The Year in 2008 )
It is all good.
Like my slogan says...."It's So Much More Than Just Music!"
2010, one of the worst economic years in more than a decade, has proven to be one of my best income years ever! My sales are up 35% over last year, and 30% over 2008. Similar reports can be heard from many of my network contemporaries.
Through networking, embracing new technology, adding services, adopting better business practices, and improving performances, the DJ Entertainment Industry is coming of age and also beginning to gain respect and acceptance as an industry.
