Well I bought another pair of baseplate this past week, Ive wanted to clean them up a bit before using them b/c the raw unfinished metal just doesnt look clean to me.

So i took some light sand paper and just got some of the surface junk off and then whiped it down with alchoal.

and then rattlecanned it black with gloss.

Turned out good.

What about the truss it self why not go all the way and powder coad them!:triwink:

Looks good! Now get yourself a file or grinder and round off those corners. Your feet will thank you later. :)

Not a bad idea

I need to find a way to pick these up, anyone have any tips? I usually have to tilt it with the truss on it and slip a pen or something under neath it so I can get a grip to lift it.

Just as a question, how many of you use trusses like this regularly? I have a 10' On Stage setup that I use when I need it. It's compact, portable, etc. Is this easier or harder to use than that? How much can you load them down - will loading the lights on the front pull them over? The On Stage setup can get front heavy with 4 scanners and a vertigo. How long does it take to set one up? I also like the black bottoms with the silver truss.

I too prefer the chrome or brushed steel look.... as it stands out and says "LOOK AT ME".... and isn't that the point?

Not on the Bride's Special Day!

I guess not many.

Yeah even then especially for the bride who wants a club like atmosphere... I had one like that last season where a box truss setup would have filled the bill nicely... not every bride is looking for the girlygirl elegance some just want to shake that ass...

I use trussing with as many of my set up's possible.

My lights are (semi) permanently installed inside truss, so the truss/no truss debate pretty much isn't an option for me. The truss I use is vertical & black, but not global trussing.
