All of my April and May brides have moved. So, I won't have a gig until mid-June. Of course, that is IF the economy opens up.

I have had some October brides move to next year, which is fine with me. It free'd up a few October dates, which will hopefully book up.

I am 100% okay with a break! My shoulder has a partially torn rotator cuff and I had two options... surgery or 6-8 weeks of rest. I am on my 8th week of rest. I could not have planned this better.

I have also wanted to drop a few pounds... I have dropped 6.5 so far. Eating at home and walking every day has done it for me. I am down to 232 and need to drop 12 more pounds to get to my goal. I am 6' 4", so I think 220-225 will be a good weight for me.

We are also dealing with my father's cancer. He found out on March 12th that he has stomach cancer. Ironically (or not), that was near the first day of the lock down in PA. So, he has done the chemo and testing by himself. (Today ishis 2nd chemo treatment and he is there right now).

People are suffering, no doubt. Financially and mentally. Our industry has been hit hard. We may never recover. Or, we may recover very well.

I always tell my wife and kids... get through one day at a time and don't look past that. We are blessed to still be working full time, which helps us keep our minds focused.

One day at a time everyone!

Good to hear you are staying healthy and sorry to hear about your father!

All my April, May, June and July gigs are. canceled and I am now having August calling in. It really sucks. I am able to rebook most for 2021, which means way less new business in 2021. Not good...

Good to hear the positives and sorry about the negatives... We all have to scratch our way through these trying times and come out the other end the best person we can be... entire cities were destroyed in wars of the past...and guess what... time moves on... those cities now thrive... this isnt the end of civilization... mere speedbumps

Sorry to hear about your dad I hope he makes a full recovery

There's a good Joe Rogan Podcast interview with a retired Navy Seal that is floating around YouTube. He was talking about how you deal with a grueling situation like Buds training. His mantra was to make it to his next meal. They had to feed the sailors every 6 hours (I think, if I'm remembering correctly). So no matter what their bodies and minds were going through, he shortened up the time frame to just get to that next brief break.

I've found myself needing to think that way myself. And I'm not comparing what I am going through to Buds. But when I think about the scope of the problem and how unknowable the future it, it's daunting. When I think about what I can control, and think about just getting through a day and trying to be positive I have better luck.

Sending warm wishes for your dad, and thanks for the post!

I was thinking about this and I had to really think hard about this. When was the last time we did an event? The last thing I remember was doing a 3 hour event for some senior citizens in Vailsburg Park in a small community room. I used just one speaker and I had a great time. I love doing events like this for 2 reasons. These events are safe and I get to play music that I normally don't get to play. I love playing stuff that takes them way back. Certain songs I surprise because I know those songs and they are surprised to hear me playing certain songs.

One of my favorites is Joe Turner, Flip Flop Fly. I had fun with them. I played a game of name that tune. I try to remind them if you guess a song please sit back and enjoy so someone else can win something too. 1 to a person. That was back in February. It seems like it's been forever since we did an event. Just wanted to ask when is the last time you did an event somewhere and what was the event if you can remember?

You knew i liked puppets....and you also knew i enjoyed giving Mix a hard time...

Well played Rockford!

Give me a hard time when things get better and you bring your ass to the Handball Court. LOL. Now for your information goober that last event someone else was there selling jewelry and I played the music. Anytime you play for an event it's still an event you're doing regardless of the circumstances surrounding you.

Oh I made a mistake. If you come to the Handball Court and play you would get booed out of there because nothing you play would be music they want to hear.
